Such an unnecessary goal to concede. Sat in the family bay and it just looked like it went wrong from the moment eze gave up then no one wanted to close down or spot the obvious danger. Sigh.

Just re-watched, it started with Hughes does not know what to do with the ball, giving the most sharkty pass to Eze.
Not much to write home about except a good, professional win at home against quite poor opposition.. tough run of games away from home coming up so we needed that
Been a scrappy game overall. A lot of decent attacking moments for us breaking down much too easily under little pressure. And we may have got lucky with the pen which looked like it took a touch off the player's leg before it hit his arm. But on balance we still deserve to win and I'll take it

I'm going to have to buy you some yellow tinted glasses like fans have. Clearly onto hand.
A couple of things, we certainly dropped a bit more when less pressure on the ball (might have been a little to do with game state given our leads), and a lot in the middle of that 2nd half when we won possession we were very direct, chipped balls into our forward line, and couldn't hold possession high up the pitch often (which could also be due to a result of being a little deeper). The refs wanting the game to "flow" just ends with trainers coming on every 5 or 10 min to treat players from poor tackles.
i could be wrong but it looked to me like it almost imperceptibly skimmed off his leg on the way through to his arm. The broadcast cameras aren't good enough to tell for sure thoughBullion

Bear hug restraint, especially on Piper and Eze, little pushes in the opponent's back to win headers, dangerous tackles, all fine with Danaskos today. This was part wrestling, part football. As someone else said, 'letting the game flow' encourages dangerous tackles, causing injuries, stopping play. Refs have to stop letting so many fouls go IMO. It's not working. On the plus side, well deserved win.
Great results from both the men's and women's this weekend. We needed this.
Enjoy the rest of 12 pubs and the holiday period everyone.
Victory away is always a tough fixture for us but they've had a slow start to the season, and hopefully they're still hungover from the derby win so now's a better time than ever to take them on.

couldn't agree more. They need to cut down on that stuff and THEN we may have a game worth watching.
Pleased to see that there was more of a mongrel to this team today.
Not unexpected I guess with Eze, Piper and James in the starting team, but I have a feeling this attitude is starting to positively infect our more passive kiwi youngsters.
Which I think has been badly needed and a very good thing.

Nix might even get a few drunk Barmy Army fans cheering them on. Game is the 29th.

Well thats was ugly but i couldnt give a shark, onwards and upwards. Some shocking officiating today from pulling players down to ground and pulling them back to dodgy tackles and an assistant ref not calling it when the ball is out. More of these weekends please Men and Wahnix
Also with the high line your GK has crucially got to be decisive and quick to come. After a few months it felt like Oluwayemi was finally understanding what to do
Now with 18 yr old McCarron it will almost feel like starting over again
And who’s the backup if AKH is still unfit. Get Dublin Boon back from Sth Africa on short term loan?
