"Confirmed" by Piney and Phillip Rollo as Sunday 4pm local time, the ALM fixtures still show this as Saturday night (when the Melbourne Storm are scheduled to play).

What are the factors that determine what appears on Sky Open (Sky's Free-to-Air channel)? Would someone have to pay?

I hope that Club looks at the possibility of this as I personally think it would give the home SF ticket sales an immeasurable but significant boost.

Sky Open have the arrangement to show Super Rugby "live" each Saturday at 7pm. This will clash with the home game.

The away game is possible.. unsure who needs to arrange it. I'm sure there were some last minute additions of the Breakers to Sky Open during their playoffs

I wasn’t suggesting the home SF be screened on Sky Open, and there may be good reasons to avoid that. I was meaning the away, and the impact this will have on the casual attendance a week later.

Anyone going over for this? Qantas have relatively cheap flights on sale at the moment. Air NZ extortionate unfortunately.

That's a shame but at least you can get over on Qantas right? Or do the QF flights not work out?

Also upping their service from WLG to aussie. Serving us better internationally than Air NZ.

Phoenix $4.20

Opening odds at the TAB. (Gamble Responsibly)

Ridiculous odds! Whoever sets these has probably one of the people picking us to finish last this season!
But having said that $4.20 or $3.90 for the draw is a decent return.

We are the perennial underdogs.  Our terrible record there probably feeds into the odds given.  Lets make some punters rich!

It is our Melbourne Away record, we just never win there. I recorded the TAB odds for the season as part of the Tipping Comp, we were $5 away at the Victory in Rnd 4, so that is an improvement!

Even better odds on bet365.

£4.75! I'm going to take that. C'mon you Nix.

Weirdly both the Nix and CCM have been written off on bet365.

Qantas have $239 seats from Welly to Melbourne leaving on Saturday at 14:35.  Very very tempting

That's cheaper than it's costing me to fly from Tauranga to Welly for the 18th. Sad (but glad).

Sadly the game is now on mother's day so I can't really get away with this one...have promised my son we'll fly to Aussie for the final though of it's hosted there.

I have my tickets, both airline and match, for this weekend.  Sadly the airline tickets from Wellington cost a small fortune. Not helped by the A League.  I booked my flights based on the information on their website immediately after the game.  It had been updated to show the correct teams. Less than an hour later (as my mate in Melbourne reported - he was on the train home from the City v Victory game) they changed the match day from Saturday to Sunday. I then had to fork out another $100 to change the tickets.  Thanks very much.  Why was I in such a rush to buy?  Seats left were few.  The prices on Qantas were already north of $1400 one-way economy. Most Air NZ tickets were over $1000 one-way seat only.

Ouch. The A-League are so so sloppy. We were posting confirmation from Piney and P Rollo that the match was on Sunday as soon as they "confirmed" it but people questioned it showing the A-League website that continued to show Saturday 11 May.

The A-League also created an infographic showing the Finals series that was riddled with errors (some important, such as dates, others not so critical, such as forgetting to put "vs" for one of the fixtures). They eventually fixed some but not all of these errors.

Then after the weekend results they updated the infographic with the results but went back to an old version of that file that had the wrong dates, so they basically unfixed that error correction!

Weirdly both the Nix and CCM have been written off on bet365.

NZ TAB have now added odds for teams "To Qualify" for the next round

Victory $1.40
Phoenix $2.80

Other match

Sydney $1.57
CCM $2.25

So $6.30 for a CCM/Nix Final.

I think TAB has royally messed this up. CCM have the best odds to win the outright grand final but here TAB has them at worse odds to qualify for the grand final then Sydney . Clearly they haven’t realized it’s 2 legs because those odds don’t make sense. Makes sense how they might think those teams would win at home but they have messed this up surely?

Aussie TAB had us at $2.50 to qualify yesterday & CCM at $2.00. So based on those, its about right. The Grand Final odds probably reflects money they have gambled on that book already.

Machach suspended for 2 games. Means he's out for both legs of the semis.

So the TAB thinks that us and the mariners are underdogs in the semi finals despite finishing 1st and 2nd and we have a good H2H against victory?

The TAB thinks that the line they've placed has the best chance of making them money, they aren't out here trying to insult the Phoenix.  If you think they're wrong, bet on it.

Hi are you Tauranga based? Are there any others based in TRG? Keen to connect about possible travel things for the future. I've DM'd you but the forum doesn't appear to notify people of DMs!!
