Ok, let's nip this in the bud right here. We're not giving a team a guard of honour for winning a competition we aren't allowed to enter. We're not their opponents so it's not up to us to honour them
Disagree. WSW invented the a-league. They should be honoured. They are the champs of Asia.
ive got a song that wont take long, Adelaide are rubbish.. the second verse is same as the first.. ADELAIDE ARE RUBBISH
Why did we not give ACFC the same. 5th best team in the world and ACFC beat the champs of Asia.
Mods lock it down.
Grumpy old bastard alert
Fever sarcasm may have truly reached it's zenith already in this thread.
I hope they have it on display around the sideline somewhere near the goals, a Vinnie Lia shot and kabooosh, the cup falleth over!!
The Ruf, The Ruf, The Ruf is on Fire!!

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.
I'm willing to get my arse out if we are doing a guard of honour.

Bare-Arsed Posnan FTW!!!
"Ive just re-visited this and once again realised that C-Diddy is a genius - a drunk, Newcastle bred disgrace - but a genius." - Hard News, 11:39am 4th June 2009
I am reminded of Eddie Murphy's rant in Delirious not being impressed with Stevie Wonder.
"WSW I ain't impressed, you wanna impress me take the wheel motherf*cker"
Serious suggestion, can we have the huge banner with just a single word?
"MEH"
If only we had a banner large enough to say:
Phoenix: Best A-League team in Oceania!
Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.
...or 'You only won because we can't enter'
I also laughed when I herd the commentator say that a guard of honor would be nice.
I LOVE LAMP
Devils Advocate - I think we should do a guard of honour. But before hand we say to the FFA we will do it if they extend our licence. Both acts show good faith from both sides.
Of course as soon as I heard it mentioned on the commetary I had to restrain from an expletive laden rant in case I woke the wife and/or child
Angrier but more cuddly than a Honey Badger
Disagree. You do a guard of honour at the end of season when the game you are playing in doesn't mean anything. ie. after one team has won the league. We are 5 games in. It basically telling them that they are better than us.
Do we get the watch back, or will it be broken?
We will never fully decide who has won the football.
Guard of honour dress code -

"At the end of the drive the lawmen arrive...
I'll take my chance because luck is on my side or something...
Her name is Rio, she don't need to understand...
Oh Rio, Rio, hear them shout across the land..."
This all seems a bit humourless to me.
If our players want to show respect to their players then I'm fine with that.
It is a pretty huge achievement and its probably at the player to player level that the respect is most keenly felt.
That doesn't mean the crowd can't still be giving them plenty.
And it would be cool to have a cheeky "Champions of Asia" banner to pull over if we win!

Agree. Think it shows a bit of class and respect from the club for the players to do it personally.
Technically Sydney FC are the only A-League team to be champions of Oceania.
Yellow Fever - Misery loves company
The champions of Oceania are our feeder club
The champions of Oceania are our feeder club....
.... and they could be playing WSW in the CWC next year!

What about a haka with Nixie leading it? If we're gonna take the piss, lets do it properly.
You dis respectful bastards YF.You do realise the RBB would do one for us if the situation was reversed.Yeah Right
Nix have to come to the party and beat them then the chant has to be YOU ONLY WIN IN ASIA
GET YOUR SHIRTS OFF FOR THE BOYS

Now we're talking. Doing a haka is an excellent idea.

We should get the coach of Al Hilal's wife to write something https://twitter.com/ANAMARIAPRODAN1.

There's no way the players will want to do it though
Normo's coming home
Yes, we are all just infidels... Can we seriously drop this before some idiot actually thinks it's a good idea?
I feel a stupid Dom Post headline coming on...
Grumpy old bastard alert
it will happen.
But meh, all we have to do is give it our loudest ever "who are ya" while it's happening.
Allegedly
