Yellow Fever Ngā Wana Kowhai is turning 18 and you're invited to the party!

We'll be turning The Featherston yellow & black on March 15th to
celebrate 18 years of supporting our teams from the stands.

Don your favourite retro Fever or Nix gear and join us from 6pm for dinner and to watch the Phoenix away double-header against Sydney FC.

Pay what you want for a beer or two from our Karma Keg, with all
proceeds going to Wellington Free Ambulance. A big thanks to Emersons for helping us raise some money for a service that has been treating Fever injuries since 2007.

Bring a photo or two from the archives to pin up on our Fever photo wall (or email them in advance to tracey@yellowfever.co.nz), and enjoy the awkward 18th speeches from special guests throughout the evening.

Join us for the party of the season as Yellow Fever celebrates finally being allowed to buy a beer! We'll even shout you one later in the evening.

I can only go as “retro” as last season’s shirt but it’ll be fun to toast my Fever senpai and watch the games with you.

Out of curiosity, are there any good blog posts, videos, etc that cover the early history of the Fever and how it all started?

Edit: Maybe that could make for a good Fever FM special?

Sydney FC have rearranged the men's game to the Sunday now because of their Champions League Two match on the Thursday prior. Women's match will still be on Saturday - so I guess it'll be a bit less football watching and a bit more partying

Yeah women are now at 7pm so think we'll do that and they put an old phoenix game on afterwards.

Great this. Will you be doing anything regarding growing the fever? Like Ideas to grow members, improve fan experience and move the active zone forward to even greater heights? Great opportunity this party to get feedback on board.

I'm pretty sure the fever has done an excellent job of growing over the last 18 years - I know I can't fit any tees I have from 2008.

Is it possible to get reprints of the retro ricky shirts? I gave mine to an op shop about 10 years ago :( It wouldn't fit me now anyway!

We've been thinking about doing something like this before the start of next season. We didn this for a few years but stopped at some stage (maybe it was Covid?). But if you've got any pressing ideas come find us on the night.

Is there a YF Hall of Fame/Life Membership or similar? I wouldn’t expect those deserving of such are the types to push their own barrows but there are a number of “elite” individuals that have done great things at varying times and some are still floating around (like Dale). I’m not talking about forum post contributions but everything else. If there isn’t, it would be a good idea don’t you think?

If the active zone is moved forward, closer to the pitch, wouldn't it be lower down rather than a greater height? 😛

Not sure how you would go about finding out but would be interesting to see how many who were there in the early days of that first season are still around. Some of those who were the founders are no longer regular attendees in the zone.
Those who were there at the first meetings at the BB and the one that was held at Four Kings not sure if any records of attendees were kept but would be cool to see who is still here.
Some great times and even better stories that grow with every year that passes.

I'm about 99% sure we've secured a copy of the men v Sydney game from Sept 2007. First ever win, shirts off birth, bunch of Waitako rugby guys in the away section, and Felipe's goal.

If I was still living in Wellington, there's absolutely no doubt about it that I would be at tonight's celebration, here's to 18 years of YF.

To everyone going, enjoy yourselves, enjoy reliving our first ever win, get to the Featherston and home safely, and of course, LET'S GO GIRLS!!

Been meaning to post.

Thanks for all that turned. Think we raised a bit over $1200 for Wellington Free from the Raffle ('m particularly happy with the phoenix watch i won), the silent auction, and the karma kef.

Watching that first win back, it's amazing how far the quality of football has improved.
