Yellow Fever Thank Terry, Welcome Nix Home

Its been a long off-season for Yellow Fever, fans of the Wellington Phoenix FC, but following a point on the road at Gold Coast in the first round of the 2001/12 Hyundai A-League, the Fever are looking forward to welcoming the team back home to Wellington.

The Phoenix play their first home game of the season this Sunday at Wellington's Ring of Fire against the now Culina-free Newcastle Jets.

Sundays home game will be of special significance for the Fever, marking the first home game under new owners after club founder Terry Serepisos relinquished control of the club to focus on his other businesses.

Terry is the guy we all have to thank for bringing professional football to Wellington says Yellow Fever Founder Mike Greene.  ï¿½Its great to have Rob Morrison and his consortium taking the team forward in safe hands but Terry will always have a special place in our hearts.  Hes got an open invite to the Fever Zone and we hope hell join us for a game soon.

Yellow Fever are planning a special tribute to Terry Serepisos at Sundays match.

Okay folks.

We've had a bit of a financial blow out on our Terry tribute (as mentioned above).

If anyone has a spare tenner (or more or less) which they would like to donate watch this space as we'll put details here of how you can help save News from paying the shortfall out of his pocket.

Think of it as a donation to a 'tifo fund' for those of you that seem determined to propose such things.

If you send News a PM promising $10 and asking what it's for he might tell you.

Details to follow.

Cheers
Fever.

We didn't provide Terry with a "loan" did we?

My friend spent the money.

Idea is roll it out as players wander out and then keep it in place until they are lined up for kick-off.

People in the middle of the zone - we'll need your help to just keep it in place.  Not looking to roll it up the zone but open her up (straight) and keep it in place).

Big credit to Feverites coming to the party, think we're already around $400 pledged, including $250 from one forumite who shall reamin nameless.
