But yeah all the parents with kids playing football should be bringing them along, but we havnt latched onto that yet..
really would like more player involvement in the off season. target the kids at schools or trainings and brainwash em. Haha

J.C & FFS, when we have a full stadium every game, maybe then fans can get precious.

Yeah,its kinda sad that people are only coming to watch the game because of Fowler. But then again, its a good opportunity to get people through the gate.

i can't think of what team was playing... But there was a game in Wellington a while back and there was a famous Dutch player coaching the other team. And people came just to see the coach. Let people do what they want... just more people paying.. which means more money for our team..

i saw Chen practice in Melbourne last week - he did not once get a shot/head that went in the goal (oh, did i mention it was around the 6yard box ?)

Yep. Maybe not the whole story but he knows he's a bit special.

Make no mistake, we are all Phoenix fans, especially now Marco's in the team - he gives the kids something else to cheer about 'cos they know him. Robbie is just another drawcard that should be made the most of. Who wouldn't want to see one of the game's greats in action?

I remember Celtic got a centre half from China, he played 45 minutes for them against a 1st division team, looked like he'd never played football in his life before, and was never seen again after being taken off at half time!

Do you have the same feeling about Berto? Because besides that free kick stunner, he wasn't scoring anything in the 6 yards box or the penalty box either but you would have him in the starting lineup.

I say that it would be timing/tempo linking issue with the teammates. He did well enough in the pre-season game with the Nix didn't he? So already thats better than that Chinese fellow that trial for Celtic in a preseason game. Also, the step up is a learning experience when you are surrounded by quality teammates in another football style to lift the game up to just get into the rhythm. It just stupid that people makes huge assumptions and thinks that the coaching staff are totally inept.

Also, do people have problems with Chinese players on the whole in this country or what? Or is it because of Leilei G** behaviour with the club. Previously we were all happy for Leilei G** to join after what he did for the NZKnights but things just didn't work out for him and us.

If he is a youth representative for China, then I'd say he has potential.

I actually have a really good feeling. Think he might come on with 15 to go and score a brace. I think he could even outshine greenacre. Now that would be nice.

I'm more importantly interested in Caceres. If he does a Diego then I'm gonna be so annoyed

I`m hopeing that Caceres is the missing link that can provide the spark to unleash Ifill and Greenacre, it would be great to see these 2 start banging in goals!

It wasn't aimed at you, it was basically the general absurd observation of what some of the people has said in the forum since Chen was under our radar. Chen is a youth player as much as Roja and Costas with plenty of potential and already people have decided his fate without seeing him. That is plain wrong.
