Daren't wear anything other than the gear I've worn to the last few matches in case I go and jinx it. Getting more superstitious by the day! connorsmom2010-02-25 21:17:17

Nice of the Yellow Pages to supply the confetti for the occasion.

I know it's against stadium rules but screw it. Someone on the inside please arrange for "Yellow" to come to the party and pay for something spectacular at the match as a form of viral advertising.

I know they are into that stuff (stooge planted at the front of the iPhone 3G queue, Yellow Chocolate,...)

Perhaps if there is another red card in the game it would be a fortnight of 'Yello - Vicious Games' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wn9FevDdcLU

Smashing idea - Unfortunately this attire is banned by stadium officials. :(

Not wishing to rain on your confetti strewn parade, but the key message to get across is just wear the teams colours - Yellow (& Black).
That's why we chant Ricki Herbert's Yellow army (and you'll be surprised at the number of people who don't realise that is what those crazy guys in Yellow Fever are chanting).

It may come across as vain, but many are mainly attracted to this "soccer crowd" thing that is happening. So we should behave like one and do what we can to make first timers enjoy it so much that they want to be part of it again ... and again ... and again. Which is happening. Doesn't need gimmicks.

Arm them with no more than the words of RHYA, Who are ya, and Wellington is Wonderful (I've had a couple ask me what the words to that saints go marching in song are) and they'll feel part of it. No songsheets required.

I know, I know, its serious!

Well we could always do the same thing we always do.

For f**ks sake haters. Its just a way of making things interesting and having a bit of fun for the finals.
Wtf is wrong with a simple tifo.
Tifos are fun and if people are willing to go to the trouble of doing it. Then let them.

What's a tifo?

Permalink Permalink
about 16 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
Tifo, originally the Italian word for the phenomenon of supporting a sport team, is mostly used as a name for any spectacular choreography displayed by supporters on the terraces of an arena or stadium in connection with a sport event, mostly an association football match.

There was one thing I could never work out on that great November night - were there man love moments at the three critical moments of the match and was this in keeping with Fever tradition?

Only real fever tradition is the shirts off at 80. The man love was purely spontaneous...I suspect everyone blacked out somewhat...I do not remember that final whistle moment, and i wasnt even drunk.

I won't feel so ashamed then that I turned to a friend I'd only ever known online and only just met that day and gave him a massive bear hug when we scored our goal. It felt natural at first and then kinda awkward.

First time is always a little awkward...right?

Perhaps FFA Should review that. Because its quite common in Tifo's that have been done by other teams.

Sorry dude but are they going to arrest all 3000 of us?

Nah just kidding. Would the FFA reprimand the club? I'm sure I've seen videos of this sort of stuff from Australia?
