Macarthur FC have been in the ALM 8 seasons and still have no ALW side (they do apparently have a team in NSW NPL womens).
Agruably that is worse than CCM.

To my understanding, at this point both Macarthur & Auckland are just waiting on the greenlight from APL to join, but I have no clue why Macarthur haven't been brought in for 2026-27 given Western United's withdrawal.

Given how much the Men's side loses, they probably are happy to not expand the losses by pushing for an ALW side as well.

Yes ain't MAC's owners taking legal action against the APL for financial promises (ie annual disbursements now way lower), broken?

Still if CCM's new owners are to be criticised, you can't also not examine why after 8 years MAC don't yet have a ALW side.

I know nothing about Macarthur, but didn't AFC make a deliberate decision not to field a women's team until 27/28 so they could focus on establishing their ALM side?

It'll be interesting to see who takes the field against Chelsea in their "invitational" side next month. Part of me thinks it'll be AFCW coach-in-waiting Jenny Bindon bringing in a bunch of AUFC players along with her pick from sides like Ellerslie and Eastern Suburbs, just like we'll see in their eventual ALW squad, but maybe they'll surprise us.

Decision was to not field a side until 2025-26, so one year after the men's team. I think they even had a few players lined up. APL made the decision to push it back until 2027-28, which Auckland have never been too happy about.

Yeah, invitational side will be interesting. Like you I'd imagine a strong Auckland United core, but I could see a few surprises particularly if there are some NZ players off contract.

So by 1:59am NZ time the APL know the deal with CCM, even if the public don’t?

CCM have now been saved, so surely the draw isn't that far off now?

As i posted elswhere i wouldnt be getting to excited, the Tigers have been a shambles for years and they have taken over. Not sure i get why given the issues they have.

Welcome to the new boss, same as the old boss?

With the Womens Allstars game being this week - and the point of the game essentially being an advert for the women's league - the draw must be imminent?

Hard to convince people in the crowd to turn up during the season with no fixtures available you would think?

Wait too long after the match and those that you have reeled in will have forgotten about it by the time they can actually plan which games they want to go to

For all they’ve only said “this month” that’s a good argument for them aiming to get it out this week to ride the media coverage.

I imagine the worker bees at APL head office are frantically trying to organise 110 venue contracts now they can actually sign them, along with finding alternate venues for games where they’ve left it too late (and grumbling “we warned you this would happen” as their bosses pressure them to work overtime).

Dang, City just announced Cortnee Vine. It's becoming an arms race between the Nix and City in the ALW right now.
