Macarthur FC have been in the ALM 8 seasons and still have no ALW side (they do apparently have a team in NSW NPL womens).

To my understanding, at this point both Macarthur & Auckland are just waiting on the greenlight from APL to join, but I have no clue why Macarthur haven't been brought in for 2026-27 given Western United's withdrawal.

Given how much the Men's side loses, they probably are happy to not expand the losses by pushing for an ALW side as well.

Yes ain't MAC's owners taking legal action against the APL for financial promises (ie annual disbursements now way lower), broken?
Still if CCM's new owners are to be criticised, you can't also not examine why after 8 years MAC don't yet have a ALW side.

I know nothing about Macarthur, but didn't AFC make a deliberate decision not to field a women's team until 27/28 so they could focus on establishing their ALM side?
It'll be interesting to see who takes the field against Chelsea in their "invitational" side next month. Part of me thinks it'll be AFCW coach-in-waiting Jenny Bindon bringing in a bunch of AUFC players along with her pick from sides like Ellerslie and Eastern Suburbs, just like we'll see in their eventual ALW squad, but maybe they'll surprise us.

Decision was to not field a side until 2025-26, so one year after the men's team. I think they even had a few players lined up. APL made the decision to push it back until 2027-28, which Auckland have never been too happy about.
Yeah, invitational side will be interesting. Like you I'd imagine a strong Auckland United core, but I could see a few surprises particularly if there are some NZ players off contract.

City lost another two starters from the ALW GF in the last 24 hours. I think that is 4 who have departed the club now.
