I remember when I was playing having a bye in round 1 one year, at the start of the season it felt like every team was a little more onto it and we were just a little bit behind. Hopefully we have a good warm up scheduled for that bye weekend.
And they've added an earlier fixture tomorrow night to make it a 2 game series.
With this extra info now being available I realise I have put these posts in the wrong thread - sorry

Not wanting to derail the thread but I'm surprised the Phoenix haven't publicised this, not even in this week's Academy Roundup. Maybe it's more of a training camp type thing, but "bring your crew and your colours" suggests it's intended to be a public game.
Two games between A-League clubs Auckland FC and the Wellington Phoenix will showcase some of the country’s best emerging talent for U-17 women.
Entry is free for spectators.
From Bev's interview today:
Heading to Sydney for a preseason tour in October and will play two A-League fixtures there, one of them could be open so firming up them details but we've got some boys fixtures and things as we go. We'll end up with about six seven games before the season kicks off.
Macarthur FC's entry into the A-League Women is still at least two years away. The club has also provided an update on the status of its Centre of Excellence.

Grim is an understatement… The A$30k (NZ$35k) average salary they quote is about 20% less than players would get working full time at minimum wage, so no wonder so many are struggling and stressed.
The other depressing number is the 26% drop in average crowd size from 23/24 to 24/25 - without ticket sales and the sponsorship money they attract, how are clubs ever going to pay players what they need to be able to focus on football as a profession?
