Samba has had the surgery now in Auckland. Still wants to go to Middle East for rehab but that doesn't seem likely anytime soon

I wonder if she'll give the money back, given this surgery and recovery will be covered under ACC

Not covered by ACC. As she did the injury in Australia. But the Nix insurance would have covered the surgery here.
9-12 month rehab. She has left it a bit late. Puts the Nix in a tricky situation now for next season.

So she’s keeping the money then?
Great scheme!

Incorrect, ACC will cover the cost of surgery and recovery for injuries which occur over seas, provided certain residency and travel criteria are met.

That's great news, so good to see imports re-signing.

Great that it is looking like we will have a lot of continuity in the squad for next season

Also all these re-signings speak volumes about how good the culture must be within the squad and coaching staff

100% Whatever happens this season next season has to get better with so many of the current squad being there. You would they can only get better the longer they work together.

Walker, Nunn, Woods & Samba signed up for next season, so only 1 slot left available.

Do we let León move on? Do we wait and see how Middag recovers from her ACL? Will we need a short term injury replacement for Samba to start the season?

With Samba having only just having had surgery the question probably needs to be asked if she is going to be fit enough to play a meaningful part next season. If not surly they need to look at putting her visa spot to better use. Wouldnt be popular but she will be no use from the sidelines.

Leon is an interesting one, she has been much better as an attacking player than as a wingback, can use her flair without the worry of something not coming off. We also have more depth in attacking areas, especially with Fraser coming back, and Winham and Samba due back next season. Whereas we have less depth in cm, for instance if Jale is out it may necessitate Vlok moving deeper to have some physical presence in midfield. Bott coming back, I assume she will be ready at some point next season, will help here. Other than cm, our wingbacks are sparse and a lwb at Nunn's level would be great - Elliot on the bench can cover both. So I would not be prioritising Leon but a lwb or a cm for the final foreign spot. I don't know if its true that Middag and Esson are in a relationship, but that may complicate things if Middag doesn't get a spot or position at the club and offers overseas and then Esson may not be around for next season.
