Interesting signing Tameka Yalllop. I hope they will get a younger faster attacking midfielder next they can bring on. With both Emma Pijnenberg and Macey out, must get 1 more in midfield.

Then a Daisy Brazendale replacement. So 2 more really.
Don't forget the Phoenix still have Mikaela Bangalan. While she's not contracted, she took the field in one of the semifinals last season not long after joining the academy and is now a key part of the reserve team. Would be very surprised if she doesn't get a scholarship deal after the Under-20 World Cup and end up filling the Daisy Brazendale role.

Taylor Ray just left Mel Victory. She'd be a good pick up as we need more CDM quality. The other highly rated Aussie that's unattached is Mckenzie Hawksby. Though more of a AM. But with Fraser gone and Whinham yet to be re-signed or fit enough.
Either would be a good signing.
They will probably both end up at Melbourne City though......

If Taylor joined us she could eat all the apples she wanted!

But yeah snatching her away from the jaws of Sporty Spice could be a challenge, they’ve just signed Avaani Prakash from Mariners as well.

Could be a number of players.
Indi Page Riley would be the best signing,
But other football ferns unattached at the moment include
Ava Collins
Charlotte Lancaster
Anelia Jensen
Liv Chance
also but unlikely to sign for the Nix
Kelli Brown
Anna Leat
Liz Anton

You don't have to look too far down that list. In fact you could have stopped after the first name. 🙂

I think Jensen or Collins would be good signings. Lancaster also offers something different to what we have currently with her goal scoring knack.

Good. Progress continues on building this squad for the season. Will be the 4th new signing after the foreign wingback and the 2 veterans.

Any of these guys available to help out the lads too? Couple of games a week should be okay for a few of them!

Crazy good team with Bott and Samba to come back in, and the likes of Vlok, Riley, Barry, VDM etc not even guaranteed a starting spot.

This lineup assumes we keep a similar shape to last season, but that could be subject to change too.

Not sure if there's anything official on that, but Bev potentially let the cat out of the bag a bit in her last presser when she spoke of Whinham being on track for a return from injury in December.

Hadnt seen Alyssa announced as a re-signing pleased if it has happened though. Must mean they think her recovery has been successful.

Well looks like the squad has been updated on their page. No real surprises other than what is Ella McCann like? Assuming some more scholarship/youth players need to be added?

She did her ACL at the Under-20 Women's World Cup in 2024 and missed two seasons as a result, but has spent the winter in Australia playing for Sydney University.

Oh yup, how did she go?

Also who is our international defender? Sorry having a mind blank but it looks like she’s got a moon boot in the latest next video thing?

Are you thinking of Kam Pickett? I was wondering why she wasn’t in the squad list.

Edit: Obviously not who you meant, now I’ve seen a screenshot from the video, but I’m still curious about Pickett.

Good catch up with some of the woman at todays Mens pre season game they did a signing at half time. Apparantly many suffering with sore legs after spending 3 days at the army base.
