Are we at the point that we don't judge on results and try seek small improvements? I would like to see the team string some passes together and achieve some genuine passing passages. I cant remember us stringing 3 passes together all season. I know we also want to score goals but maybe we try to get the ball into more scoring positions first? This will sound like u12s stuff but maybe we need to lower some expectations. I know i said last week a shock win wasn't far away but after watching last week maybe i was too optimistic.

Would like to see a change in shape asap and if all the below available..

                            GK
              Cicco -  VDM - Barry
  Clegg - Hassett - Gomez -  Satchel
                           Knott
               Pritchard - Robertson

We didn't look far off a result against Western United, who by todays account are currently the best team in the comp.

But I agree that there needs to be tactical experimentation; like what the heck have we got to lose?

Will be interesting to see if Kate Taylor slots straight back in.

I think they will play her but to be honest i feel we've got somewhat better at the defensive end in recent weeks so pick n stick could be a better approach. I like Taylors leadership she's well spoken but bit slow against pacey strikers.

Looking at the other games this round our fixation on back passes, defensive mindset, sluggish wide players with no ability to cross to  poor finishers won’t get us off the wooden spoon.
Time to mix it up?

How much do the players earn? Scholarship players vs regular starters vs a Hannah Keane import ? Who would be on the most dollars in the league?

The PFA says minimum wage for 22/23 is au$20,608 (rising to au$25k next season). The reported salary cap is au$450k, so I don't think many of them get that much over the minimum for their 29 weeks contracted.

That's lower than I realised.

If the club pays them in the off-season does that still count towards the cap?

I don't understand why they persist with Pritchard. Why don't they play Rolston up top (I thought that was her natural position) and bring Gomez into partner Wisnewski?
Sure Pritchard has lots of potential. But won't do her any harm coming off the bench near the end of games to inject energy.

Gobsmacked re Pritchard!
How many chances do you get??
Surely this is last chance territory

In fairness to Pritchard she's been horrifically isolated in attack with often poor service. And defensively she's been asked to run around like a headless chook. Surprised that she hasn't walked off and chucked it in.

Would like to see her in a 2 up top approach to share workloads - then we can make a fair judgement.

How many strikers do you see go well in a team that is struggling both in mens and women's game...not many.

I would lose the zinc though its not cricket.

First real attack of any meaning, poor giveaway of the ball, players not marked properly and Bri Edwards out of position.

Classic Nix.

2-0 off a penalty. We look so easy to score against. Silly challenge from Barry... and already a sizeable mountain to climb. Especially for a team that hardly ever scores...

That first goal looked like it was straight at Edwards. She'll be disappointed with not dealing with that.

Why put Taylor straight back into the starting lineup when we have had very good defence in the last three games- well for us anyway? She has only been training every second day, and wasn’t in good form before she had her break. . Rolston doesn’t look like she can be bothered playing at all, just slowly jogging around. Agree with Pritchard, has hardly looked like scoring all season.
No structure to our play in terms of patterns of play- does anyone recall our full backs bombing forward and doing overlapping runs to deliver crosses or cut backs? This is disappointing coaching for me

She will be free next week now to play for the Ferns. You can't say her form for the Nix warrants it though.

Was pretty poor discipline from both. They can't have many complaints really. Good that it was at least equal.

Couple of good passages there. If we could nab a goal we could turn this around.

Its concerning for the FF that they are calling up more players from the Nix this season than they were last season... when we have gotten worse.

Very surprised the neither Lancaster or Walker are on the bench. Thought they have both looked good coming on in previous games.

Satchal to her credit is throwing everything at this Perth team. Need to get Clegg on with her pace - this Perth team is struggling to deal with it at times.

Perth don't strike me to be very fit here. I think they could sit back and try hang on second half. If we can somehow nick one we could quite easily get another.

It's breaking me that we can't even keep a ball from a throw in!

We've been poor for 95% of that half....but that other 5% has put hosts under some pressure. Maybe being optimistic but we could get something if we score early. Up to the players.....coaches may as well watch from the bus.

Coaches would rather just keep giving Pritchard and Knott free passes every week
