Third game in ten days and Newcastle have Prior back, but it probably won't be 34 degrees in Porirua.

Things I'd most like to see:
  • Abbott being fully recovered and making her home debut
  • Whinham scoring and giving us another trademark knee slide
COYN!!

Ninja A-League Round 12 Match Preview

Phoenix midfielder Alyssa Whinham will play her 50th Ninja A-League match on Sunday afternoon when the Nix play host to Newcastle Jets at Porirua Park.

In doing so Whinham, 21, will become just the second player to make 50 A-League appearances for the club, after centre back Mackenzie Barry reached the half century mark at the end of last season.

So applause in the 50th minute then?

Do we have any timeline for Amelia Abbott's injury?
In the prematch interview. Temple said she is back training. But needs at least a couple of weeks to get upto speed, as hasn't played much football for a while....
And even when she was playing at US College she was only getting limited minutes.
So you would imagine she will integrated slowly in any playing capacity. Especially considering the match day squads of late have been pretty consistent.

Fire up! A win would be fantastic today. Take nothing for granted considering Newcastle's position on the ladder.

Spotted Bev Priestman and Michael Mayne walking in.

Also we seem to have lost a few pixels...

Let’s hope their defence is just as patchy!

Not a good start - learning from the men's team to give away early goals obviously

Kelly has twice put us under great pressure, going back against  the wind. First goal came from that.

Despite the early goal and headwing looking positive down the right - liking Tanakas and Whinhams play so far.

Newcastle coach is very very vocal

Need to put more power on our forward passes at times - often we are underhitting them and it allows for an interception

Usually don't mind Ferguson but her positioning and strikers instinct today has been terrible tbh - example when Longo bursts through and Ferguson stays with the defender in between them so the passing option isn't even on.

I think you are being kind to Ferguson.

Disappointed to be 2 nil down.  Need a big second half

In celebrity spotting news, Marco Rojas, Chris Greenacre and Ben Sigmund are here, though not sitting anywhere near each other.

HT 2-0... tough to take that but hopefully if this wind keeps up and we sub Main on for Fergusson asap we can still give it a shot!

So frustrating.  Where to start. Longo has been excellent . Tanaka, Whinham and Mccutcheon have done some great stuff.
We have had enough chances to be in front, but most of our efforts have been powder puff.   Nothing new there. Ferguson, I don't need to keep saying it.

Barry has had a shocker, but the defence have been under pressure cos we didn't adjust to the wind.

It COULD be different 2nd half.
