I know it's windy but man our corners have been poor today...

Now we just need to train the seagulls to associate the opposition colours with food...

Re-watching the highlights this morning Krzyzaniak’s reactions when we hit the crossbar in the 23rd minute really were impressive - to be brutally honest Newcastle probably deserved a point out of the game, but I’ll take fairytale endings any time we get them.

My one regret is hearing the commentator say after their second goal “… and once again Porirua Park falls into silence.” I wish in that awful silence after their first goal I’d been a bit more quick-witted and courageous and started clapping out the Phoenix chant instead of standing there stunned thinking “someone needs to make some noise”, because it would’ve taken just one person to get the crowd going.

Oh well, just like the players keep working to improve from game to game I’ll try to be a better supporter next time this happens.

Anyone watching on Sky Sport Now think the pic quality was worse than it usually is? Just something I noticed on two different TV's in the house.

I found the close ups were fine but there was a noticeable drop in quality on the long shots.
Yes exactly that, I was second guessing myself when the close up were on as it was fine, but the long shots definitely inferior

Brilliant match yesterday! I thought we were done at half time but glad to have been proven very wrong. The girls never stopped pushing and it paid off.

Longo has been essential for the team this season. Whinham's evolution over the years has been a pleasure to watch - she's so confident and I love how she's added quite a bit of attitude to her game! Main has been an exceptional impact sub and, as much as I'd like to see her start some matches, the energy she brings when she comes on is crucial - always pressing, always chasing the ball.
Vilão didn't have all that much to do but always looks assured and confident. Jaber has improved so much at CB also. Always driving forward but careful to not leave her spot open and has made some excellent tackles.
What's up with Barry, though? IMO she had been our most reliable player since day 1, but I just haven't seen that this season. She's been making a bunch of uncharacteristic mistakes, far less aggressive with tackles and blocks and just looks kind of tired most of the time. Is she just unfit?

Was gutted not to be able to go but family dictates. This team just keep on improving and delivering. Only caught the highlights, but the fact that they scored late on shows they’ve got belief and togetherness. Making the JCS a good fortress! Long may it continue.

the whole first half the crowd was quiet. We assumed one of the usual fever was away. Previous games they have been very quick with very funny new chants. This game silence or just the usual. I tried but getting anything started was really hard. Again not sure why every other game at PP ha been excellent crowd wise

We got home and decided to watch again. Admittedly fast forwarding bits. Thought Tanaka was unlucky not to get goal as we are sure it was hand ball. Plus another may have been over the line. I agree that no VAR is nice but sometimes things get missed. Jale obviously wanted to be subbed in second half. Crowd size was good. As per previous comment I did think we were a little quiet though.

Footage was strange - was a bit shaky as well and had a lot of birds flying in shot which I don't think i have seen before.  Also the crowd effects in the first half were about 5 seconds delayed - made it hard to watch.

Yeah the wide shot had a stuttery motion that none of the other cameras seemed to have, which made it not the most enjoyable watch unfortunately

I too was annoyed by the effects mics being so delayed in that 1st half.

The seagulls seem to have become a thing this season - every match at Porirua Park so far this season has had a lot of seagulls, but i don't remember remember it last season so I don't know what has changed to attract so many seagulls

Chips. Seagulls have worked out where the chips are.

So, it's not the crowd encouraging them by chanting then?!

Regarding the seagulls - the Park isn't all that far from the Porirua landfill (as the bird flies). Hopefully the rest of the seagull population doesn't also work out where the chips are. Might have to load up some volunteers with lots of chips and have them 'accidently' keep dropping a few somewhere well away from the field...that should do the trick......

A couple of games ago, I sat at the back of the stand after the game, quietly enjoying the win.

5 mins after the game had finished and the stand had mostly cleared, it was totally inundated with hundreds of scavenger seagulls. They aint stupid.
