Umm… Was that not offside??
Came off the keeper and wasn't affecting play prior to that?

I didn’t think that mattered? She was clearly standing offside when the shot came in.

This is getting nervewracking now, end to end stuff, Jets certainly trading blows of their own in the counter

Yeah I'm pretty sure you're right, just trying to justify it from a Nix perspective 🤣

If it was considered that the ball was deliberately played to Longo by the keeper rather than it being considered a deflection from a save then it wouldn't be offside - but its hard to say that a parry from the keeper to save a shot would be considered a pass - so really yes it likely should've been offside

Great to get the 3pts! Had resigned myself to a draw.

Elliot and Main will likely be wanting a start next week after how they changed the game in the 2nd half for us

resigned to a draw?

After being 2 nil down I was stoked for a draw.  With a win I'm bloody buzzing!!!!

What an excellent comeback by the women, when I saw we were down 2-0 at half-time I thought we wouldn't be able to come back from this, boy was I wrong, check a little later and see they're level, and then a winner right at the death!

Seeing that gave me flashbacks of the men's final regular season home match of 2014/15 when we were down 2-0 to the Mariners at the Cake Tin by the time half-time came, then in the second half, Bonevacia got us one back, Cunningham came on, got us level, and then scored right at the death like today. I'll always have fond memories of that game and still think that is the men's best ever comeback.

Great mentality and intent to not only get themselves leveled, but to keep pushing and end up grabbing the three points, back to winning ways and 4th on the table.

Sounds like our second goal was offside, but when you don't have VAR to check, what can you do?

Yeah resigned was maybe too harsh a word - when we got back to 2-2 I was feeling great to be back with a potential draw - but with so much time left I started to think we were looking good to get a 3rd and get the win.

Late into stoppage time I was still happy with the draw, but felt with a more clinical first half we could've won, so some slight disappointment in our slow start - but our late goal wiped all that away!

Longo  was exceptional.
Whinham had one of her best games.
Jale played a big part and mixed it up physically.
Elliott made a big difference, but clearly the wind helped us big time second half.
Main is head and shoulders better than Ferguson. Her touch is streets ahead.
But overall, the game was such good entertainment,  like a whole season of the men's games.
Looking forward to the rest of the season.

By far the better side, 2 goals against the run of play make it hard but man, what a pleasure to watch that for 90+min. That's a 2 goal wind if I've ever seen one.

Jets keeper was so good until she ran under that Olympico, team is looking better and better every game and Longo is in her best run of form in yellow which is making a massive difference. Whinam and Jale have been fantastic the last few weeks as well, can tell that the confidence is high.

Longo's goal should never have stood, the assistant on that far side had an awful game.

I don't think that lino had a clue.
I felt sorry for the Jets keeper too,she had a strong game - but looks like she flapped at our winning goal.

Just went back and double checked and it was actually super tight. defender on the far side of the 6 yard box maybe keeping her on.

The save definitely doesn't reset the offside though.

Apologies to the AR. Other than that blatant corner she missed.

I don't mind it. If she was the 8th player to get there it'd be weird but it's similar to how they treated Barry's earlier in the season.

I dunno about the armband, but if celebrating it in that way is positive for the team culture I find it hard to be mad about it.

It's probably all right at the moment with the women's team still being so young, and the amount of turnover in the women's game at the moment.

As more start to hit 50 it'll become less special and should probably then be reserved for 100 caps

I don't mind celebrating 50 matches for players that have been there since the beginning.  We aren't likely to have any players make the 100 mark with short contracts that are offered.

I remember seeing Annalie Longo at an AFF trial when she was just 12. She was head and shoulders better than every other player there.  What a brilliant player she has been through the years, love seeing her still running around with all that skill and energy all these years later.

I guess it has to be exceptional, ideally.
So for the first two players there, fair enough.
We will move to 100 caps and greater, hopefully, before long.
If the club choose to celebrate these things, I suppose its not a real big issue in the scheme.

What I loved about today was competitive, attacking football, no VAR, no flashing and intrusive hoarding advertising.

Long may it continue - most sporting events have long since sold their soul.

Also a high foot by the Newcastle player to deny Tanaka

No VAR, but is that dangerous play?

I thought there was a hand ball from the Jets as well in the first half.

I love Porirua park or Jerry Collins stadium, but god I wish there was a direct train to Porirua from the Hutt Valley.  Parking is a nightmare.

Longo was immense. Led by example. Elliott has improved heaps and is now looking deadly in front of goal.
Turned into a very physical game, I think the ref had let a lot of niggly stuff go and then couldn't bring it back under control again. Cicco v Jale looked very close to boiling over.
Well done Nix!

Great win. So good that last goal to get the 3 points. Especially considering next two games are tough away games. Elliot with a huge contribution two goals plus heavily involved in the other , and still only 19 yrs.
I though it was really good how the club celebrated Whinhams 50th game. She has had her ups and downs. Time away from the game etc. But she looked really assured in receiving the accolades and captaining the team today. Showing she has come a long way in that time. Long may it continue.

Classic game in the wind. They scored two with the wind, we scored 3.
Porirua Park turning into a venue the girls can take an advantage from, training in the wind regularly and learning to use it.
Unlike Sky Stadium, because its round the wind swirls, and you can't really train for that or use it to any advantage.

In the last few porirua games,we have struggled against the wind, but the opposition have struggled a lot more. So I think we should have adjusted a bit better in first half today.

Agreed on Elliot. She wasn't great in the first few rounds and I was critical of her, but she's improved enormously. It's great to see.
The Cicco and Jale niggle was a continuation of their previous match-up where Jale was on the receiving end of a scissor tackle and other unwanted attention. I don't want to dislike Cicco, but she's shown that her game is more about guile than footballing finesse.

I found the close ups were fine but there was a noticeable drop in quality on the long shots.
