Always puzzles me when I read this. As if any coach that's worth anything would accept any other terms?

Luci is a great coach in his own right. He was the brains behind the Ricki successful era. I used to go to the training sessions and he was doing pretty much everything. I was hoping he'd get the gig after Ernie but that didn't happen.

Good friend of the Cacace family from all accounts, and played a big hand in Libby signing in Belgium.

Trani wouldn't be a bad target to replace Uffie, if Talay moves on at the end of his 2 year contract, and Trani had head coach ambitions at all. He would know the NZ football scene more than most in Australia.

Bang average.
Only slightly better than the training kit Nani was wearing at the season launch not that long ago.

In saying that it's better than some of the mockups I've seen floating around twitter. That's not saying much though if I'm being honest...

Know this is a year old, but I had memories of him trying a head coach/manager gig and not liking it?

In other news, Victory’s Twitter account was restored on Saturday afternoon, almost 24 hours after it mysteriously vanished off the social media site in the wake of Football Australia’s announcement of club sanctions.

While conspiracy theories were quickly offered surrounding that timing, the real cause was rather more benign and not related to Victory at all: an error by the social media site incorrectly identifying the club not as a registered business but, instead, as a child under the age of 13, which, being against Twitter’s terms, led to an account suspension.

After spending the evening convincing the social media platform that they were, in fact, an 18-year-old football club, Victory was restored to the platform and their previous follower and following activity are expected to return to normal in the coming days.

An interesting break down on Victory's recently brought to light financial headwinds.

When it rains it pours eh?

Would be interesting to see how other clubs stack up, given Victory are the biggest club in the league. Covid has played it's part in this, but obviously when you've got teams making substantial losses it's not good now is it.

Would hate to see how  WelNix stack up 😬

Apparently six clubs owe money to the APL, the victory being the biggest owing the APL a couple of million. They was one of the drivers to sell the finals.

That is ugly reading.

Interesting that the big losses started in FY2019 (July 2018-June 2019), yet it was their FY of highest revenue. They hosted an elimination final that year (May 2019) against the Nix.

Anyway a $6.7M loss in FY2022 is huge. From memory VUC were against the GF going to Sydney for 3 years?

I know it's the Victree thread here. But does anyone know if WelNix owe anything to the APL?

I'd doubt it.........My guess of the clubs that do owe money to the APL would be as follows:
Victree
Sydney FC
WSW
WU
Perth
Adelaide

no hard evidence to back these just a bit of guesswork.

Nix might do, iirc the APL assisted them when they were based in Australia. Also the jets being ownerless might have borrowed some.

All based on guess work though.

What a horrific deal. No wonder the victory originally voted to give the finals to Sydney, unless they find some cash they're going to struggle to survive.

The crazy thing is they've doubled down on their squad, with the likes of Fornoroli and Nani being late signingswhich they've made since signing that deal. It's a risky gamble that won't pay off, and with the calibre of the club has put the entire league at risk.

With their fans attendance and member numbers I thought they would be rolling in it.

What do our owners lose every year?

Seems on the softer side. Not even a forfeit for the match.

On second thought, softer than initially thought as a good chunk of those "fines" are just costs for repairing damages and hosting the extra game.

That's pretty hefty that is. Financially at least anyway.
As for the result, for sure thought it'd be a 3-0 result for City, case closed.

Going to be bloody awkward covering that replay.

AAMI going to be a ghost town (compared to what it was) for the rest of the season too.

They must have taken into account the Victories perilous financial position when coming up with these sanctions.
