Very solid performance tonight. If we play Sydney in normal circumstances, we would batter them. Hope the boys get a good rest after a hectic couple of weeks and that they stay off the golf carts.

Davila used to stay down a fair bit more though mate. Sandoval more often than not straight back up on his feet.
Still annoys the piss out of me Donachie didn't end up in the book after that shove in the first half.
Think the players really enjoyed having all the football. They’ve done enough running on the training pitch I’m sure. Wonder what we’re guna see after the break- Sutton has enhanced his reputation. Sotirio too has showed up big time. Waine and Old haven’t quite nailed their chances, but by the same token haven’t done much wrong. Freaking love David Ball! I wish I had half the fight and heart he does. Such an inspiring team man, who has stood up big these two weeks. Not sure about the Payne Wootton pairing! Where now for Hooper and Pennington? Will we see them after the break? I feel that Uffie doesn’t quite trust either Pennington’s defense or something- from the coach who told Sotirio he dreamed he’d score. Still Pennington was great in our cup run and I think we’re going to need him soon- but where in our system I’m not too sure. Wish we’d put them away, but happy we hung on- they had the best chances tbh.
I would not worry about Pennington or Hooper. They have lots to do, but just not in this game. Talay correctly guessed that the only way for us not to lose this game was to bring Waine, and then Hooper, to ensure we kept on attacking, otherwise we would have given Sydney too many chances if we retreated for the last 10 minutes or so. In the end, it was enough of a threat that ensured they did not bring up their backline further upfield knowing we have no legs left. I call it a smart tactics by Uffie,
Ref gave Sydney a lot of calls, and that one where Bobo barely got clipped but went down was comical. However, at the end it looked like Payne pulled down Bobo in the box so that evened it out somewhat.

I’ve thought it must be bringing him back slowly due to his age. He’s going to play a big part and with the quick turnaround in games , suppose it’s not worth risking too much. Really want waine and old to start taking their chances though.
I did think as well the Sydney rear guard mopped up everything sent their way in the air- which seemed to be quite a few deliveries from Sutton. With no one really making a run from midfield for the crosses we weren’t really competitive in the air on attack.
Such a gutsy game from the boys. 5 games in two weeks is tough going, especially when you play a fresh, strong team like Sydney. They have had ages to analyse our play and decide how to beat us. Could they? No. Sydney tried to rough up Sutton, but he didn't bend and even cleared one off the line late on. The tried to foul Sandoval out, but he kept on going. Big ups to the midfield, coping with the end to end play. Good one on the discipline too, that game could easily have boiled over. A top result. We are Sailing.
Might just be me, but does anyone else think that Oli Sail is going to start attracting some serious attention from overseas based clubs in the off season?
On current form he's the best keeper going around in the ALM. Contracted until the end of next season.

Thoroughly enjoyed that game Sail was immense still looks at times like he is still affected by that injury. Yes the ref wasnt great but think people are making more of it than needs to be. Still think we are missing something with our attack, at times our counter is sublime but we dont seem to be even getting into position for someone to shoot.
Ryan Grant should have had two yellows on Sutton in the first 20 minutes. Donachie should have had 4 yellows before the 60th minute. To suggest the ref was good is a laugh. From Sydney and doing only his 5th game. All the old pros at Sydney sucked him in brilliantly. I wonder how a more experienced referee would have dealth with the crap going on. I salute Rufer for being quite restrained. After the second hack on Sutton, you could see he was itching to give a bit of pay back and I was quite expecting it. Well done Rufer for not getting a yellow. Ball should be able to relax and play his natura game again. I think not scoring was bothering him.
