Jaushua Sotirio a good chance to return from injury early but there’s four players out with Covid-19 (none who featured v Melbourne City). https://t.co/Lb3hfyHDcC
Bump. Not much time to dwell on that City performance, the boys are back facing CCM Tuesday night.
That could be the best thing for the boys after that Citeh performance. Get out there and go again to chase a result.
I expect we'll be right up for this one from the get go. Important for us to get something out of this to maintain that gap between us and the chasing pack. Despite Saturdays shellacking, we're in a very good position to get into the 6 with the games in hand we do have.
Do we think either of the young lads brought over for the game will get some time on the pitch?
for sure, I reckon. Bidois probably the best academy striker last season - big, fast, but unfortunate timing with an injury meant others were brought over in his place. Toomey one of the better Weenix players too, almost 21 already, will slot into one of the number 10 roles most likely but can fill in further back
Note of the 4 guys out with Covid, apparently none featured against Melb City. Not sure if that means they were on the bench or not in match day squad at all.
Anyway with Payne coming back in, and hopefully Piscopo ready to start - Nix should actually have a stronger team this time out
That lessens the chances of the 2 new arrivals being rushed in

Apparently Uffie spoke about easing Piscopo back in, so don't expect him to start.
That chance came from a very simple Pennington turn over. There is very little quality in our side atm. Fortunately, it means I can both go to bed early and save money on tickets and fuel and avoid the Auckland game I was thinking of travelling to.

the nix fan base thank you for not travelling to Auckland, and going to bed early.

Fair weather fan then? Now is the time to support the team, not abandon them.

I'm fine to watch the nix even in a bad season. I've travelled to plenty of games and watched bad nix sides. But at the end of the day the phoenix are an entertainment product, the current team with all of the injuries is not a great product. I'll decide in the week prior depending on if the team has some players back. It would be a different story if I lived in one of the cities that was hosting a game, but I won't pay to travel 2 hours each way, parking etc to watch the team that is on the pitch today. I don't think that is unreasonable.
