Hopefully they can sort something out to bring people up here. I worry that with it being so close to Xmas, will someone in Fever HQ have the spare time to do the leg work?
Overnight is much harder because we'd need to sort accommodation and I think it has less of appeal. I'm getting a quote for a day trip so I'll see what the cost comes to. We'll probably have to set a minimum number of sales.

There was a good reson for only playing 1 game prteviously at the ROD.
The gale force Northerly for the whole game with a wind chill factor of minus 1. Then there was the chicken wire fence keeping us from being within 100+ yards from the pitch and no real view.
Except that stand. It has to hold at least 300 people on Gold Seat tickets.
I'd been going there when in the RNZAF in 1981 for the Stock Cars. And all they have ever done to improve things, is replace the wooden blanks with plastic bucket seats. All the money made from the Rugby Union and from the Stock Cars and no real reinvesment.
Frankly, the club would have been better off allowing Stock Car races to go on during play, fans would be able to see the cars better than the football.
Or you could kill the time watching the Wind Turbine at one end of the ground.
Would you rather they took another home game to Woolongong then?
Napier!!
Do you not think someone at the Nix didn't put some thought into this and suddenly you are coming up with Genius solutions (or are you just having a moan)? The fact this has been announced now less than two months to the game shows me they have been thinking about this for a while.
These kind of decisions are never taken lightly, I'd guarantee that as soon as they know Sky Stadium is unavailable the spend months looking for other options before locking them in. Napier has a cricket pitch in the middle of it so that's a no go. Most other smaller grounds in NZ wouldn't meet the league's lighting, media facility requirements.
Would probably have been announced even earlier if what Domey said was correct. Sure i heard him say somewhere that they had contacted the Palmerston North events team but they never got back to them. Would also imagine the Ring of Dirt wasnt their 1st choice.

That was a reply to me on Twitter, with regards to Palmy hosting a ALW match.

Na have actually heard Domey mention it rather than just read something on twitter
So went to look at tickets for the ROD has anybody else noticed the only area at the ground with the no drinks symbol next to it is the Fever zone. Or is that just my browser
When I look, the only area with the no drinks symbol is the Family Zone. I'm looking on the flicket site. Why aren't tickets for sale through Ticketek?

I assume because Ticketek will have a deal with Sky Stadium but not the Ring of Dirt, so the Nix are going with the provider they already have a relationship with this season.
