low crowds arent even just an aleague thing, look at all the competitions at the moment, Super rugby crowds have been low for years as well, NPC crowds have been terrible. The NBL still attracts good crowds but then their venues are small compared to the stadia for football and rugby. Cricket crowds have been aweful. Affordability is a massive issue for everyone.
And we put prices up significantly.
there were some pretty justifiable reasons for this, namely they had stayed the same for years, costs at stadium increasing, season passes including the women.
Here’s another question- why are we on an historic scoring run, but also almost unable to score a second goal? It just seems so bizarre.
Is the answer genuinely just Lewis? Or that playing to Zawada’s strengths is reducing the chances for other players? I guess it seems odd that Zawada can knock one and one only in every game for so many games. But that’s not a bad issue to have.
I thought perhaps last season we could have had impact players in Reno, Sotirio and Waine, as well as Old.
Now we’ve got Old and Kosta (occasionally Van Hattum and Sutton) and perhaps they haven’t been getting the job done the same way? Or we aren’t able to control those transition moments with Lewis?
Drop off in goals from Kraev is particularly noticeable. He was our main scorer until Zawada got his act together. Has his role changed to a provider (much like Ball) rather than finisher?

Yeah Kraev scored 5 goals in his first 8 games (4 goals in 4 consecutive games too), but has since only netted twice in the last 11 (12 if you include the game he was suspended for).
Hasn’t been too much of a worry with Zawada scoring for fun, but more goals from Kraev, Sasse and Ball would be a huge boost heading towards finals footy.

Standard practice. Opposition identify threat, kick it to bits. Alternative threat gets opportunity.
