There is no way 4395?
Looked similar to Brisbane game on tv. That’s got to be wrong? I wasn’t at the stadium though

Looked that from the TV to me tbh

Attendance looked about 5k to me.

We really need to move to a purpose-built, rectangular, stadium of ~10k capacity. I know I'm flogging a dead horse here, but the cake tin is just awful for watching football.
Agree we need another stadium but fail to see why 10k is the figure thats always mentioned. Nothing in our past suggests that is what we should be expecting as an average turn out. Yet again the Phoenix fail to deliver when returning home after a good run of form. Frustrating that over the years this has become the norm. Those sorts of performances do nothing to convince casuals to turn up to games.

The idea is that 10k is close to our usual crowds we're getting (6-8k) When the team plays well there is obviously more demand for tickets so this creates a bit of fomo. Meaning that hopefully people more readily buy tickets leading to sell out crowds of 10k.

Not sure it'll ever happen but it's definitely what's needed. The atmosphere and buzz would be amazing!

Pricing has a lot to do with it. Yet another dead horse being flogged. Until the Stadium trust stop being so self centered and greedy, it will remain a mostly empty stadium with very few exceptions. At least a 10k stadium rectangle with rounded corners, would look more full AND give fans a closer view of the action.
They should have built it right beside this stadium and made use of the rail system. Too easy I guess. League, Union, & Fottball would have been a very happy bunch. Glad to see the Rugby giving up on Sky, good job.

Agree, $40+ is pretty ridiculous. Tough to justify, for many.

Definitely felt bigger than that, but there were gaps. Shame really, but appreciate it's a tough time at the mo.

If we're going to play more conservative football like that at our own home ground then sadly the attendance numbers aren't going to get any better.

That was the first game I've attended this year, a ticket, two beers and a punnet of chips set me back $75. Call me fairweather but I'll continue to watch on the telly and won't be attending a game again until either the pricing comes down, or the team start playing something worthy of my money.

Our gameplay wasnt that conservative. We play decent attacking football and had plenty of chances but their keeper had a blinder. The league delivers games like that. I get what your saying about the cost of attending. when a Fritz weiner at $12 feels cheap something is off.

Big games against MacArthur and then Wanderers at home. I’m hoping for at least 1 win out of those 2 would show that we are still in the race.

I would settle for a draw away to MacArthur, but we need to do much better against the Wanderers game to prevent a long slump (can happen with young kids in the team not having the right mental experience yet).

Besides Kelly-Heald and to a lesser extent Surman who is in his 2nd season, which kids are getting any meaningful minutes? Had both Conchi and Supyk on the bench on Sat and not sure what would have been lost by giving both/either of them 15m at 3/0 down. Maybe I am missing something but cany help feeling there is a bit of smoke and mirrors about the supposed youthful nature of the team.

That point in the season where a few wins on the trot rockets you up the table, or a few losses and you can drop pretty quickly. So good that we have points in the bank early this season. But we need to keep getting results, wins or draws to cement our place in the top 6.

Don't forget Paulsen. But otherwise your point is correct. The consistent starting 11, really only has 3 young ex Academy kids. That's certainly less than what the likes of Adelaide & CCM have been doing in recent years, in terms of playing youth.

But it could easily change soon. There have been very few injuries this season to date. A too good to turn down offer for Zawada may come in the Jan window. Looking forward to seeing Supyk getting a chance, at some point.

We are a couple of injuries and maybe a suspension on top of that to end up in an enforced situation of a youthful team on the park. Plus David Ball.

As has Gillion for a few minutes....would not classify these as meaningful minutes. OVH is also in his 2nd year as a Pro.

Got to be honest i hope David Ball is not just there to guide youngsters, he needs to play way better, i think hes going to try be a greenacre and set himself up at the club. Ball is past it now.

Ball still has a lot to offer his creativity and unselfishness are really good but I feel when he's on the field it needs to be with Zawada.

In the Jets game, he and Old were doing well and creating a few chances but we didn't have a striker on the field to finish them.

Zawada is in all reality the only true senior striker we have, Kosta, Ball and Kraev are at best creative midfielders/wingers.
I wonder if we are looking to pick up an extra striker during the january window?

If Zawada's out we should play Supyk.

I wouldnt want to be putting the pressure of being the #1 striker on a 19year old kid from the academy, he may well be good but he hasnt got the experience of Zawada. He'll need time to learn his craft.

Not arguing with you, mostly because I haven't seen Supyk play at all, but Surman is only about that age, and I think the pressure on and responsibility of being a centre back is even higher than that of a striker. So, if he's up to it, then, just like Waineo, give him increasing minutes so he can have a shot.

I think that is mainly where I'm sitting too, I've not seen a lot of Supyk at all so not sure of what he is capable of. I think there is some difference between a defender coming on young as generally he is part of a back four and surrounded by older/experienced players doing the same job. Compare that to a sole front man trying to fill the role of the leading goal scorer, different kinds of pressure and less support directly around you.

Supyk may well be amazing, time will tell. If he keeps doing well in training then he'll get his chance, hopefully he takes it.

He's a 17 yr old kid. He looked promising at the U17 WC without a lot of support. Yes the ALM is a large step up from that. He must have impressed in pre season to surprisingly nab the last squad spot ahead of older guys like Riley Bidois.

Only 17! Well that soildifies my caution, sure he may be talented, but playing against experienced players is very different to talented boys. He needs time and burts of minutes at the end of games.
