"Wellington Phoenix legend Roy Krishna wants to be part of the new Auckland A-League team - even if it means crossing swords with his old club."
He wanted to join the Phoenix this season as well, at this stage in his career he's going to go to whoever gives him the best paycheck. He'd be a good player to get a few goals off the bench but not worth his wage expectations for a team like Wellington. A team like Auckland with unlimited budgets will be a different beast. Not a judas move, he spent a lot of time in Auckland before Wellington hired him, and he'd just be doing what's best for his family.

I’d say it will be marginal if he’s good enough for the ALM now, even as a non visa
Ah come on, of course he is!
He'd probably still be okay, like a Ball, Barba and ole mate David Williams mostly are. But Krishna will be 37 by the time the 23/24 ALM kicks off. He says he still has his pace, and I'm sure yes he studiously looks after his body, but for certain he won't be the Roy of six seasons ago when he last played for the Nix.
And the ISL is a weak comp. Des's Mumbai City finished their ACL campaign, P6 L6 GF1 GA17 GD-16. This week ACFC lost 3-0 in Saudi to Al Ittihad. Mumbai lost their 2 ACL games to fellow Saudi team Al Hilal by a combined 8-0. The best hungry young players in the ALM are a cut above the best young players in the ISL, that Krishna is currently measuring himself against.
Foley Corp are going to spend large on their imports, and a few of them will be up front. But yeah I guess they could find a place for an experienced older local pro like Roy. And yes Auckland has a large Fijian Indian community who love him.
What are all of these “we” s? AP has already shown they will are jumping ship to Auckland, but Ryan, please tell me you used the word “we” by mistake and thought AP was talking about the Nix.Ryan

Imagine if we got Singh and Rojas as well. In fact it’s not out of the question 😂
I doubt we're looking at Rojas, but we'd be stupid not to have a crack in January.
News on AK facebook page is that coach signing expected this week. There are a few newspaper articles posted with no link but the main one looks like a Sydney paper (Paul Lewis writer) and says Steve Corica is the money bet. Makes sense; worked closely with their Director of Football, good history with Sydney FC and handling top marquee players, I would think the most high profile of those mentioned before, with the possible exception of Kevin Muscat.
Jesus hate to see how sensitive we are when we play the first derby Ryan
On this forum, we will always mean Wellington no matter what the intention of the poster is.
If he wants to use we to refer to something else then he should use that somewhere else.
Not sensitive, it's just semantics. If you say we in a community then you're referring to the members in that community. This isn't an Auckland football forum, therefore we means Wellington Phoenix.

A goal scorer is a goal scorer. We’d take Krishna without a second thought. Moreover if he’s not an import. As someone else said he’s had plenty of time at both Auckland City and United- he’s as much an Auckland product as a Wellington one.
Krishna moght be an option to attract the fijian community to the games, at least fr season 1, Rojas maybe an option, he's not playing at the moment so I'm sure he'd be keen to end his career in Auckland. Can't see Singh wanting to give up on his European dream just yet.

Serious business.
I credit Auckland Phoenix with starting the proper SH1 Derby niggle and banter. Pretty soon we'll be bawling about people in blue scarves coming onto "our manor"
Some muppets need to look at the title of this thread before using the semantic word
He's got a point here. When i'm in the Arsenal thread and say 'we' i'm clearly not talking about the Phoenix. This thread is about the Auckland A-League team.
Nope, especially not if you had a username like Tottenham Gunners. It would be natural for everyone to assume that you were an Arsenal fan and therefore We would be your team, which would be Arsenal. You can change your username on this forum to clear things up.

Krishna wanted to return to Wellington for this season but my guess is his wage demands are too high for a bench role in the A-League, he's apparently been among the top paid players in the IPL since he arrived.

Won’t be changing my name, Ryan. Best Ryan if you have some aversion to the Auckland team and the word we, you stay on the pure nix threads. Feel free to wield your intellect and semantics there.
Maybe also the Auckland stadium question may be off limits as well as the word we may be used there as well. Would not want you confused
I think it is inappropriate to say "we" referring to the Auckland team on phoenix forums, mostly because it is just confusing. Unless you had some sort of flair or badge associated with your account that very clearly showed your allegiance.
There were posters saying they hoped that yf would be a combined Auckland and Wellington fan forum. That's not how you build a rivalry. People should go off and build their own fanbase rather than pretending one thread here represents them imo
All your other examples are parallel identities. Arsenal and the Phoenix very rarely cross paths. And the Arsenal thread is an active one.
Look at the discussion on this board on any other A league team. ‘We’ is the Phoenix fans discussing rivals.
We have had a few guests- Kiwi pie, that SMFC dude, the idiomatic CC guy who dropped in, Ethan iirc from Perth and a few others who were clear from their profiles and avatars about their identities. They’re repping other teams.
This is a YF thread to discuss our future rivals. It’s not for fans of the Auckland club. Your ‘not confusing’ handle is AucklandPhoenix. ‘We’ is therefore the Phoenix. If you want to change your profile to clear things up, then go ahead. Only other guy confusing these issues was Mark Rudan, who, allegedly, was working for Western while contracted to us.

But you’re a fan of the Phoenix (hence using this forum) who is also an Arsenal fan. You’re an Arsenal group in the Phoenix pub.
It would be a nonsense to have a significant subgroup of Arsenal fans who were equally committed Spurs fans. Like the Phoenix and Auckland, they are derby rivals.
Other A league club discussion on this board by and large doesn’t use ‘we’ as it is Phoenix fans reporting or talking about another club. As this thread is. It’s not an Auckland thread on an Auckland board.
I think we are all forgetting what caused this argument…. Both Ryan and Auckland Phoenix used the word “we” when referring to the Auckland team. I hypothesised that AP had already indicated in a previous post that he was going to jump ship ( and has a history of being hyper-critical of the Nix in the past) and I had hoped Ryan had simply made an honest mistake in using “we”. Historically, Ryan has been the exact opposite to AP and has been a staunch and (at times) rose tinted glasses, supporter of the Nix. Now we have the classic US Presidential race scenario where AP is smoke screening and Ryan is trying to cover up an error with a false defence.. Lol (popcorn ordered because I KNOW neither of them can resist replying to this thread)

Why would Auckland be looking to sign Rojas or Singh in the January window? Windows only apply to the Phoenix who are in season, maybe the pisstake was too subtle.
