Adelaide away has never been a happy hunting ground for us but this is a match we really need to win if we want to challenge for silverware this season.
Not sure its a must win just yet. Just need to make the playoffs as anyone in the top 6 could win it this season...most open its ever been. Although i agree that a result would show us we could go here and get a result for future sake ie. if we drew them in a playoff game.
I don't think Adelaide will pose too much of a challenge at our best we will bet them.
I'll be back at Coopers Stadium with my mates, hoping to get back on camera 😂 This is our best opportunity to beat the Reds and get rid of this Hindmarsh hoodoo we have.
We have to work on our goal difference so no one can complain about the new ladder rules and it would be a great start into the new year. What about Zawada? He needs to catch up to Fornaroli.

Just an observation. This A-league table rule change has resulted in a team with 2 losses being ranked ahead of a team with 0 losses & a team with 6 losses ahead of one with 4 losses. If they wish to value wins at such a premium, any thought to a A-league win being made 4 points instead of 3 points (this was the motivation back in the day to reward attacking play and increase it from 2 points). Admittedly the A-league regular season is only there to determine a top-6 for the playoffs anyway and the focus is on those better teams to battle it out to win the grand final.
The A league is unique in it being a lop sided draw. Not all teams play others teams an equal number of times. Play some teams 2 times and other teams 3 times. What ever happens some teams end up advantaged playing lower placed teams more often than others, and therefore potentially a better goal difference. Has this change come about as a perceived fairer way to address this?

That should change next season with Auckland & Canberra entering, making it 14 teams. 26 game H&A regular season.
There should be a saves committee, like a dodgy goals one. I’ve always felt it’s tough on keepers who make a great finger tip save and get a goal kick. The team doesn’t want them to turn around and claim the save.

I actually think it's a good thing that teams with less losses are ranked lower. It means they're not getting rewarded for drawing games as much, and theoretically should make teams play for wins instead.
For some reason, more than Melbourne, I always value a win in Adelaide. Let’s make it happen boys!
Has anybody tried to drill down for a stat to show which Australian (away) ground has been our best in terms of wins away? We could skip the COVID season in the stats if it complicates things too much.
