I can't recall a returning manager ever having more success second
time around.

Kevin Keegan back as Newcastle boss
..and the best of luck to him, he'll need it! From the BBC Sport website:
the word "interesting" doesn't really do it justice - the
best I can come up with is that it's a - strangely predictable
surprise
some quirky snippets in the article Jag...
"It's a great soap opera. Locally they will be in raptures but outside it the may well be bewilderment."
He was a great player and is certainly not boring as a manager, I guess we'll watch as it all unfolds (and hopefully not as it unravels)

"Keegan, who was running his "Soccer Circus" football academy in Glasgow, quit his last job as a manager at Manchester City in March 2005.
He also walked away from Newcastle in 1997 and left the England job suddenly after losing to Germany in October 2000."

It seems they want Shearer to be manager but feel he needs a
mentor. The Keegan job is to deal with 2008, work alongside Shearer
then let Shearer take over in 2009/2010.
...assuming Keegan lasts that long!
why oh why would he come back after seeing what they've done to his
ex team?
He's barking mad - gets far too emotionally involved and then walks
away when it turns to custard. I can't recall a returning
manager ever having more success second time around. He will
certainly liven things up. It'll all end in tears though,
mark my words.
I can see why he's got the job. They need a cheerleader rather than
a manager, and he is certainly that.
Harry Redknapp?
Harry Redknapp?
The legendary John Lambie. Even more success 3rd time round!!! What do you mean you've never heard of him!
Kevin bloody Keegan aye. Who needs Home and Away when you've got
Newcastle Unied!
The poison chalace has been passed on!
" o dear me" the great kk a so whats he goinging to do this
time get them to 3rd and say "sorry its not for me " i think they
have just got him as a quick fix they needed some one a lot more
stable than this man !! he was a great player in is day and
we will leave that there thanks!!! ps shut the door on the way out
please!!!!
If they get to third and the league cup he'll go down as their
greatest manager ever.. all that matters is a bloody trophy I
think!
Kevin "I'd love it if we beat them" Keegan will be eaten alive by
the mind games of the Premier League. Newcastle were total
crap against Man U last weekend and are only six points above the
drop zone. Very silly appointment. Maybe we need our
Terminator X to sort out Shearer and then Newcastle can be a
rational football club again...
i wonder who he will sign
Have fun in the championship maggies.
I think that newcastle fans will need to be patient
