Mostly about my classes. I figured the "spam" section would be appropriate since probably no one cares about the rants of some new member.

I mentioned it in my introduction thread but someone's been stalking me on the internet. It's very creepy and I've never felt so violated before.

Also, today in my marine biology course I had my first exam of the semester. I thought I'd prepared adequately for it, but apparently not. It was meant to cover the first three chapters of our textbook. I studied everything about those chapters extensively, such as the geology of the earth and how it relates to the sea floor, the chemical composition of water, properties of coastlines, pressure, salinity, marine habitats, etc.

One of the first few questions on the exam was, "What was the name of Jacques Coustea's boat?" ... really? I happened to remember the answer to that one (Calypso) but the 50 questions were full of questions like that, that in fairness we had seen in class but it was very annoying.

Also throw in the fact that I've felt physically ill for a couple days, also possibly because I quit smoking last week and I don't think I've quite gotten over my cravings for nicotene, and I'm one stressed out girl this week.

He was a true pioneer of ocean studies, and an important figure in the history of marine biology. I could see a question like "Who revolutionized the study of the ocean in the 20th century?" with him being the answer to it, but naming his bloody boat? Seriously?

80 minutes of Auckland pushing inside the Southland 22 then turning it over in the ruck, knocking on, or giving away a penalty.

Update for those who care (which is probably nobody), on the complete contrary I got an A on the exam.

Shouldn't you be doing courses that are more relevant, such as ironing or cooking?

Only men need to take university courses to learn how to cook and iron. To me it just comes naturally.

Men only need to take university courses to learn how to find a wife, so that someone can cook and iron for them, as is there natural duty.

I'd hit back with some kind of sexist comment against men but no one would think it's funny because of the ridiculous double standard.

You seem to have figured out the lay of the land impressively fast Tricia, it's all very tongue in cheek though. I must say that I do rather enjoy the banter in this thread

It's pretty easy. The forum sections are clearly labeled. Also I like to stick to the philosophy that if there's a thread remotely resembling the topic you want to talk about, you should post in that thread instead of creating a new one.

Regarding the banter, I'll admit that the sexist banter tends to be annoying, mostly because I get it everywhere I go. It's always the same stuff too - "jokes" about belonging in the kitchen, doing ironing, etc. I might find sexist humor funny if I hadn't heard the same recycled 5 jokes for the last 20 years.

No one would think it's funny because women can't do humour.
