Really quite sad to see supporters of another club sniping away in this thread.  What empty lives you must have.

Good to see the boys get three points today.  Nice way to start a day off!
seems to be a common theme in the PL threads

Just been watching the build up to the blackburn goal and I don't know what on earth lucas and raul were doing pressing so high as it left a large gap between the back 4 and the midfield, thus in turn causing soto to have to step out of the back line to pick up gamst and leaving a massive hole between carra and skirtl. Pretty basic stuff imo. Still don't like lucas.

You must be having a larf?!

This was recorded just before kick off:

YNWA hasn't been sung like that at Anfield for quite some time.

If anything they were just enjoying watching some footy for once.

This season Roy's had a travelling circus with him. Lot's of freaks and monkey's which draw attention away from the abysmal on field display.

Speaking of Roy, sounds like there was a pre-match meeting between Roy, the players and possibly kenny that saw an agreement was met that allowed the players to use their own tactics (ie 4231, press higher, attack etc) for the Blackburn match. It was such a 180' turn on play so far this season.

Also talk that Kenny is now pretty much in charge. He has control of transfer targets and is basically overseeing things now. Roy relegated to 'coach' until a replacement can be identified.

We are on the way I reckon. Nice to see us dominate a game, even against a depleted Blackburn. The confidence will help, we did wobble towards the end huh. Nice to see Torres get a goal too.

Without making excuses, am I right in saying that we have played everyone in the top half of the league except for Chelsea? Hopefully with some stability in the club (unless Roy gets the boot) we can focus on winning some games! Come on lads

Naize to get a win for sure. Regardless of how rubbish Blackburn were and how they just sat back. So good to see us pressing the ball and playing so much higher. Easily the best performance of the season (although the last 20 minutes was shocking.. Did they start listening to Roy at that point?) Good to see a Torres goal. Lucas ran the show. Kyrgiakos was boss. Carra's own goal was hilarious.. Absolutely awful defending all round, really! Ownwards and upwards.. Bolton away next?

Diouf is a twat also.

Yeah, the goal was pretty average defending all around. i'd like to know exactly what Konchesky was doing also, and Skrtel got skinned far too easily, and Carra... Where to start?!

Lucas ran the show though. Had an absolutely cracking match. MOTM.

to do what exactly? After seeing what maxi did to soto I'll take a gamble on babel thanks!

Seriously thou I do like the look of babel at times but he's a bit a of one trick pony and loses the ball more often than I care to think about! So atm maxi.

Football = Maxi
Rapping = Babel

I think Maxi offers a lot more. His work rate is definitely way higher.

But, but, but, he's one of the best coaches in Europe...

And defo Maxi over Babel. Got a much better footballing brain, works harder and is just a tidy lil player. In saying that, its well known that I'm not a fan of Babel's!

Let's hope so!

Former Real Madrid coach Manuel Pellegrini says he has been contacted by Liverpool regarding the possibility of replacing Roy Hodgson as manager.
"I had lots of offers, some that I like. Ideally, I would like to find a club in December," Pellegrini told the Spanish press.

"Yes, Liverpool contacted me. It is a great club with many Spanish players who I already know, and it is my intention to work in the Premier League."

A poor start to the season has meant Hodgson's future has been the subject of much speculation since the takeover by NESV, even though Liverpool's new owners have backed him publicly.

Liverpool claimed only their second win of the season on Sunday against Blackburn, and lie in 18th place in the Premier League.

Yep, the kids got the goods.

I've been reading a bit about what NESV did at the sox and their strategies around finding players. They have a policy of not signing players around the 30yr old age and definitely not older. The likes of Poulsen and Carra's latest 2 yr extension will never happen under them. They scout for the young up and coming players like Shelvey, Lucas and co. They build the player up and sell just before the player starts dropping down the otherside of the hill. Usually for more than they paid for the player in the first place.

They also won't spend copious amounts on a player either so the cash that gets spent on the likes of Kaka, Ronaldo et al won't ever happen. But they will invest heavily in young talent.

I think this is good news for Shelvey, Pacheco, Wilson and I wouldn't be surprised if Insua was brought back next season. This is of course bad news for Roy as it goes against everything he's done at both Fulham and so far with us. Even if they keep Roy for a bit longer at the end of the day NESV and Roy head in two quite different directions, a relationship that won't last.
