Bloody amazing. And if you need a new and inovatative stadium for the finals look no further than
yeeha!!
I was not a big fan of the idea of the new stadium, but suddenly, all is forgiven! I had not long shifted to Wellington when the U17 WC was on, so missed the games being played in Dunedin at that time- which, I understand, were very well supported. This is gonna be huge, and surely Dunedin will get to host a group.
Brilliant.
Now, if only I could roll back the clock 25 years, and actually develop some useful football skills, I could dream the dream!
Yes an extra team. That is the case with the 2011 world cup (colombia has the host).
Dont Oceania have a direct qualifying path for age group events? I hope so, would mean two Oceania teams for once
From their youth squad...
What you mean? Could easily have a new Kosta or Marco or two by then

I would much rather fly to Dunedin for a final at this ground than fly to Auckland, thats for sure
brilliant - only found out just before leaving work - might freaked evening commuters out by smiling like a mad man on the bus!!!
As long as there werent too many kiddies around you wouldve been fine
Where did you hear that? is there somewhere that talks about he number of hosting cities etc at this early point?
I hear Napier will be hosting a group, how awesome is that?
Yes. Congratulations to the bid team.
Stoked! I can't wait for this!
That is just fantastic, well done to NZF
Brilliant.

Wow,this is a big deal for NZ!
What a fantastic goal to aim for, for our junior footballers coming through.Playing for NZ in a Football World Cup in NZ. As host nation we will qualify i guess. Does that give Oceania another team spot also?
Here's hoping The Whole of Football plan will enable NZ to deliver a team that competes well in this.

But I don't think we will need a new stadium for it

Otago Fan..
Company Im involved in is building part of the stadium, the view's are awesome especially from the cheap seats.
not sure if it is the first purpose built Rectangular stadium..
If you want a tour give me a bell and I might be able to arrange..
Awesome, awesome, awesome news...
Stoked as...
Awesome. Can't wait for 2015
yea i was checking the age group so its the 1993's for this tournament.
all i can gather about this age group is that united soccer 1 (northern football) won every year in the napier tournaments never lost the comp, so dont know who the players from there are? must be some standouts for sure then who are playing high football now
Absolutely brilliant news.
Anyone know what time of the year it wil be played?
Unbelievable for us to get hosting rights.....the atmosphere wil be amazing. We can expect lots of overseas fans....Brazil, Argentina, England, Germany.....oh boy I can't wait.l
Michael Glading and NZF get kudos from me.
yeeha!!

Can some one tell me this means there will be two OFC team at this World Cup. New Zealand being host with the OFC to play off for its one spot>?.

awesomest news ive heard all day.
international U20s should be a pretty good quality of football, and the age group games tend to be more exciting and attacking than full internationals, a great opportunity to get more kiwis into the beautiful game.
Was very pleased that we got it, and surprised at the lack of competition for doing so. Only Wales, Peru and Tunisia?
Its great, and lets hope the Phoenix will have a fair few players to contribute!!

Great news!
What is the capacity for this new stadium in Dunedin by the way? It looks nice, shame it will mostly be wasted on egg-ball I guess.

It is mentioned in the Herald article above.Doesn't appear anything is set in stone.
That Dunedin stadium looks cool. Is it a bit like an awning over your back yard? [larger scale of course] Canvas type roofing from those stands on the left over to what looks like a stand with facilities included.
