I thought Slovakia wear Blue as their home shirt; also if we play Argentina one of us will have to wear away shirts.
A NZ shirt with Nelson 6 on the back would be mean

I rather liked the blue away shirt, tbh.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

If the AWs wear blue as their away strip, the goalie will not stand out. (I must say I love the goalie strip at the Bahrain game - "all sky-blues" - is that the usual gear?)

When they were wearing their blue kit, the keeper didn't wear blue. Think keeper wore grey, but I could very well be wrong.

Anyway, all academic, can't see them going back to blue again.

Since when has Rory or Killen played consistantly in tropical temperatures.

However, as pointed out, it will be SA's winter. Anyone know what the climate will be like??

SA weather

Probably not too different from Australia in the winter.

Yeah, on the highveld it will get cold at night. Some nights will be close to 0 degrees. Cape Town and P.E. could get some southerlies that will drop temperatures. If you want warm weather go to Durban.

Blacks not that hot anymore. Hense why our sporting teams still wear it! These companies spend crap loads on climate control in fabric so if it was to be black and it was a warm day it would just be like you were wearing any other colour

One thing that can't change: the colour of Paston's goal keeper strip. Stevo2009-11-24 17:27:17

Two-tone grey and two-tone green if IIRC.

I've kinda grown used to the rugby vs football drivel in the media, but one thing that is grinding my gears is several media comentators (Eric Young et al) with their line that we must change our first strip to black 'as that's NZ sporting colour' . Keep the white... I love the current shirt for what it's worth.

These guys are doing them for home and away shirts, dunno if the font is the "proper" font though. Could ring 'em and ask.

Incorporating a "Maori" cultural design a la "Cambo" clothing on the shirt would look great...
Strip 1 = White (Black trim)
Strip 2 = Black (White trim)

I was all for the blue as well. was nice to see something that wasn't black or white.

And what you mean doesn't represent the country? whats the predominate colour of our flag?
theres soo much more to this country than a silver fern and the colour black. but thats bordering on a separate argument for another discussion.

what woudl be nice would be something like this:
http://i46.tinypic.com/29c0wao.jpg
where every player is available. Something more realistic like this would still be good where we can only choose between a few players

I'm sure most places on the interent will do numbers and last names with the right template; its just nobody wants to run into the mistake of misspelling ryan nelens last name
NZ teams wear white or black. Please don't suggest anything else

I know what others have said about designers changing things for the cup, but pleeeeze can we consider keeping the NZ strips just as they are .. they have served us well to get this far!  If it ain't broke .....

on the other hand, I suppose it will mean a lot more of the new design shirts for them to sell ....

That's encouraging, I would not redesign the home or away kit then. Nothing wrong with the present design, just start marketing them so fans can buy them.

Out of left field idea, replace the fern (Which can be found anywhere in the woirld) and replace it with a Kiwi.??

Xactly LG ... but no Kiwi please!!

I like the all white strip. If anything change the away kit. Black is boring.

Black isn't boring - almost no one plays in black, its pretty original, and like it or not (I like it) it is our national sporting colour.  I know a lot of people don't like the association with the all blacks, but it's not just them, so I say get over it.

We will almost certainly have a new strip for the World Cup.

Nike will likely bring out a new 'style' that will look very similar but will be the same in substance.  Manufacturers do this before most World Cups to cash in.  You'll find most Nike countries will have a similar design to each other (same with adidas, puma etc...)

Has anyone heard anything concrete about Nike releasing new shirts or is it all just rumour at this stage? If nike were to release new shirts I can't imagine their release being too far off (it might be a bit too late for christmas) with the African cup of nations very soon
