If you're going to change to black, which im not against, youd have to change the name (not that they need one, but they couldnt be the all whites)

From the design geniuses that brought us the "WHITE IS THE NEW BLACK" t shirt, in black, and the ONE SHOT FOR GLORY t shirt (also in black ahead of the "white out") I am predicting a f*ck up of spectacular proportions.

Happy to be wrong.

+1, but it's now been replaced by strips identical to the oufield ones except for the main colour.

Thats because the NZ shirts are ones from a catalogue - not designed by Nike for NZF. If you looked in England, all the lower league teams that have Nike got that. When Paston wants a short sleeve GK shirt, they just got it from the catalogue in a different available colour (like the blue one and the green one seen at the con fed cup).

Not all kiwi sporting codes where just black. Black sticks wore smurf blue at olympics. Womens team that is. I think its healthy to have more then just black. black gets boring. yes i said it. boring. espcially if you cant win a rugby world cup since 87darkhorse2009-12-21 23:15:44

Like the current French strip.

I've just been looking at a few of the Puma African shirts and I reckon they look pretty good. And yeah I think France, Italy, Spain and Portugal are also going for the tight fit. I would definitely wear one of these as a match day shirt

It would frustrate me if the All whites didn't adopt such a simple a simple tactic to avoid being the victims of shirt-pulling foul play.

I hope the powers that be are paying attention to details like this. The All Whites will need every edge they can get.

Alright, I took the initiave and emailed NZF myself.
I got a reply froom Tracy Brady, the PA to Frank van Hattum.

"

Hi Sean

Nike are releasing the new World Cup strip in April 2010.  I havent seen it myself yet so not sure what the changes are.

All the best

Tracy"

Awesome. You heard it here first ;)

Asked for more info about the shirt and got this reply:

Just went and asked to see a sample and I can report they are slightly more fitting.  Deeper v neck. Logo different font with a shadow type effect.  Air holes down the sides of the shirt and along the base of the back on the shorts.  Little more detail on the sleeves.

Personally I think they are very much smarter than the current strip although I thought that was pretty good when it was launched.

I hope this helps.

Cheers

Tracy

Very surprised she let that info go, would be even more surprised if she was actually allowed to do so.

I prefer Puma. there sexy as kits with the dotted numbers. By the sounds of tracy's reply it sounds like Nike are going the way of tight sexy fitting v-neck, more detail on the sleep option. So based on the Puma pics shown above...Nike have copied them..lol   PS: i think the AW WC kit should have the words "AFC kiss my ....." lol jks. darkhorse2009-12-23 20:36:33

Yeah that shirts pretty cool, it would be cool also if the new AWs shirt had some hidden detail in there also. The one above has a star on the right shoulder, maybe a big fern or southern cross or something? White on white would be sick

I doubt ours will be similar. Unless its white above and below the inverted V, with a white inverted V and white shorts.

Funny how things change, but Puma does make some classy sh*t now.  In fact, Puma is really my only brand of choice for sneakers.   Wouldn't have said that 15-20 years ago.

i reckon this would be cool, white with the black V, black trim on sleeves and neck. if not for the world cup then maybe for the next regular strip?
