Maybe if we change the name of the city in his honour people will start getting it?

Could everyone make an effort to spell marinovic correctly?

It's not marinkovich or marinovich.

Well, technically speaking, Marinovic isn't correct either. And Marinovich is more correct phonetically, even though also technically incorrect spelling-wise.

Lets just call him God

Easier to spell and highly appropriate given his form the last two years

Iif he takes the number one position in his mls team it would be great to see the play each other

How I wish we had Simon Elliot in this current AW team. Would look like a bloddy solid team with him in the middle.

I think you might have forgot how average Tim was in white.  Decent at A League level, poor at international level.  Ivan and Simon far better options.

Clayton Lewis is back in NZ now, posted a photo of the Chatham Cup final on his Instagram story. So either his England move's collapsed or he missed the Kiwi food a bit much

Heard a rumour he was training with Forrest Hill first team a few weeks back, then he was going back overseas at some point to complete a move - Unsure how true anything is, but I do know he's been in NZ a while.

Spoke to Lewis at the NZ game and asked him point blank... have you signed somewhere?

He said yes, in the UK, but was waiting on an ancestry visa before moving across. He may simply be training to keep fit atm... doesn't want to show up fat!

Waiting for the UK passport office? If he's lucky he'll be able to sign sometime around 2027.

Could be worse - waiting for NZF.

Or waiting for NZF to repair their fax? Hard to find parts for those old machines, but easier for management to understand than that interwebby stuffandnonsense thingymabog. Nothing wrong with the 1980s, so why change?

Jake may struggle to get back into the Portland team now. Jeff Attinelli has been playing well in his absence and Portland are in good form.

Would I be correct in assuming the exact date and time won't be locked in until the opponents are confirmed? So after the 10/11 of October?

Yup, I'd imagine by the end of that week - opponent confirmed circa 2pm Oct 11, then a couple of days to negotiate

When will AWs squad for Japan game (Oct 6th) be named?

Last I saw (Sep 8) on Smith was 'back after this international window' though I think he's been said to have suffered a setback since then?

A guess

GK Marinovic, Moss, Williams

DF Reid, Boxall, Tzimopoulos, Durante, Wynne, Doyle, Roux, Colvey, Brotherton

MF Thomas, McGlinchey, Rojas, Musa, Tuiloma, Lewis

FW Wood, Smeltz, Barbarouses, Bevan, Patterson

Who exactly makes it in (probably 3 of them - 2 if Ingham gets back) from the Lewis/Rufer/Ridenton/Musa/Tuiloma/Dyer group is the only real ??? for me.

Has Lewis played at all since his omission? What could he have possibly done to make it into this squad when he didn't make the last one?

Permalink Permalink

Get fit

But isn't a concern if he hasn't played at all in months?

Ingham different as he's involved in preseason with a pro club.

It is, but that never seems to matter so many other times.

Hudson's talk when dropping Lewis and Tuiloma was very much that they'd be back soon - even with no obvious football ahead. But you're right, hence why I have him in that bracket.

I'd say that's almost exactly the 23 he will name. Maybe Brotherton out and Ingham in. I'd be surprised if any of Rufer, Ridenton or Dyer made it. The 3 fatties you would think have served their penance.

I'd suspect Lewis will have been flogged by NZF fitness trainers, when not trialling overseas. If he didn't volunteer himself to be flogged, he is a very silly boy, with so much potentially on the line.
