I wanted to try to get one of the new shirts before tomorrow to try to get signed by players at the meet and greet at Aotea Center on Sat morn, however no go.

But they told me the new shirts will be for sale at the game at Eden Park.

Love it. Love the addition of the teal, and the design on the black shirt. Good work NZF and Nike.

These are really good. Always rated it when the Blackcaps and White Ferns whip out the teal from time to time so anabsolute winner in my books.

I had a look at the Nike kits for the teams at the Women's WC, all pretty good (except Aus away) and the black kit was shown alongside the home kits.

Teal always reminds me of that retro number the All Whites wore when putting 5 past Saudi in 1981 - so anything that evokes that memory is all good in my books!!!

As it should be. Hopefully the men can make the black the home kit as well. Every other international football team has their home kit as white, it'd be good to break from that crowd and fall in line with the colours that every other New Zealand national sporting team wears. The black also just always looks a lot better than the white.

I'd rather the men adopted the white and teal than switched to black.

1. I think it looks great
2. Out of solidarity

IMO white is just fine. The white sets us apart from other NZ sports teams. And, why change because of other countries? There are only so many colours.

At the World Cup we are the home team for the first two games (Norway, Phillipines) and "away" for the Switzerland game.  So I am guessing black/black/black for first two games, and then white/teal/white versus Switzerland and their all red kit.

I hope they have tested the various combinations so that if they have to mix and match it still looks OK.  For instance away to Fiji (white/black/white), we'd have to wear (black/teal/black).  Hypothetically away to someone in similar colours to Auckland City (blue/blue/white) might require (white/teal/black)

Love the black kit.

The teal and white looks good but I hate wearing white so pretty chuffed for a black main kit.

With how prominent the black shirts are in the promotion picture when, arguably, the white/teal combo is the bigger story, I wonder if the black shirt is being lined up as the home shirt for the Ferns?

On the Nike NZ site, the black top is listed as the home shirt.

New kuts absolute rip-offs of the WWC kits

Looks horrible. Can't be having two patterns going on. Either go with ferns or with the splash.

Absolutely egregious

Wow talk about throwing the baby out with the bath water.

Quite likely the worst kiwi national team strip for any code ever.

The problem with the white kit being used by both men's and women's teams is that it isn't an all white strip. Fine for the ferns as they aren't called all whites, but how can you have a team be called the All Whites and not have an all white strip (i.e. white shirt shorts socks).

The wording in the press release made it quite clear that the white strip is not considered the home/main strip, curiously it seems neither the white nor the black is labelled as the home/main or away/alternate strip.

Really does seem to be another step along the road of getting rid of the all whites name and making the black strip the main/home kit, and that they're trying to do it so slowly that it is imperceptible. I don't necessarily have a huge problem with the change in general, though I am fond of the name and the all white strip. But I would prefer the decision/debate happened properly, rather than it being something decided on high and changed by stealth, which is what I suspect is happening here.

But I don't know how we can call the team the all whites now without an all white strip. Is this already the end of that name? And the only step left is the explicit labelling of the black kit as the main/home kit the next time a kit is released?

Personally don't like the all white strip. Would prefer black shorts white shirt with black trims, just a bit more striking. Or have a play around with a few colour options like the NZ cricket team does with there one day shirts and the women are doing introducing the teal. But that black top is terrible.
I don't think the all whites name should dictate bland totally white or totally black playing uniforms for eternity.

There is more black on the previous 'all-white' kit than there is cyan on the new one.

Ok I think I got my wires crossed. I read in the article that all teams would be wearing the same kit, and I knew the ferns would be wearing the teal shorts, so I thought the men would be too, but I had missed in the article that there can be white or teal shorts with the white shirt.

The article seems to be using the word kit and shirt interchangeably which confused me a little. To me, the word kit includes the shorts and socks (i.e. Terry being called a full-kit wanker). I've no issue with a little teal or black on the white shirt, i just misinterpreted and thought white shorts were gone, which would be a hammer blow to the All Whites identity.

How good would that be!
I did enjoy the nz 06 home kit and was it the blue away kit. Not a fan of all black kit.

Oh, to have a mid-80s Juve shirt as the home shirt....

We had that in the 70s.

Wore the stripes in our first ever World Cup qualifiers (Tel Aviv, 1969) - was a good look.

I have been trying to avoid and I really don't want to sound harsh but personally when I see the shirt all I see other than the few ferns on it looks bit like Brisbane Roar home kit in black

More perfect than the Puma offering, for starters...

So....is the black shirt the home shirt for the men now? I'm seeing it advertised as such.
