http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/opinion/2815522/Future-Man-is-hardly-a-Bolt-from-the-blueI agree with you Junior82. Its all very well talking about positioning NZ Football where it rightly belongs by pricing the tickets at an equivalent level to a rugby test, and we would dearly love to see it having that higher profile. The risk is that strategy could fail badly, a small crowd turnout, and with little support, worse still a loss might backfire badly on NZFootball.
Without the likelihood of anyone making a huge investment in NZ Football in the near future, I think NZFootball have chosen their pricing strategy correctly.A sellout crowd for a football match would be a powerful message..and in these financial times, even with this ticket pricing, that's still not a given.
A do or die World Cup playoff, that the whole planet is keeping an eye on, for $39!? People would happily have paid twice or three times that.
For one thing, the whole planet is NOT keeping an eye on this - you keep an eye on who has qualified in your own area, and whoever else qualifies is just 'there'.
There is not a chance I would've paid $120 for this game. $80 is a maybe, and $40 is a ticket already bought.
The man appears to be slightly blinkered to be honest.
