Still feel like playing Durante is a risk. No telling what FIFA might do

A shame the likes of Kris Bright, Liam Graham & Craig Henderson are so far away...

Clapham currently trialling in Malaysia,  according to Canterbury United last week.

I agree with you Tripvincent. Don't know much about Liam Graham but it's a good time to use the players in the squad of 33 that were in the mix for 2014

Permalink Permalink

Graham wouldve been worth a look at RB and Bright well hes got a contract at club Keat couldnt

And its a dead rubber against solomons JV who cares. Its called creating depth

Permalink Permalink

Why?

Henderson - play regular in Mjallby AIF

Fallon - play regular in Aberdeen

Cunningham - capitain Balestier Khalsa

Spitz, Vincent, James, Bright, Musa...

Some players in NZ-squad dont`t play regular. Keat don`t have club. I like ASB Premiership but Europen, South American or even African and Asian league is beter.

any news on fitzgerald? thought he'd be worth a shot. and not sure why boxall isnt there considering dura isnt confirmed yet and we are releasing 2 CB(3 if you count the godfather).. i reckon that lends itself to sticky ricki sticking with his 343 formula. which i feel is a horrible idea.

I have an amazing ability to find my way out of mazes. I'm pathological.

Dead rubber soo who cares i guess. They're gonna play dura. Fitzgerald had a good season for v varen last year but JFL isnt the best level. See how he does this year in J2

Permalink Permalink

That's right Dominik, if you ask any player in NZ, they would want to be playing in Europe, no doubt sbout it. Lots of players go there and can't make it so hats off to the ones that do and they need to be given a chance.

what does the JFL compare to? ASB? a league?

JFL and asb both amatuer/semi pro.

Hard to say as auckland/waitak can/could compete against some J1 sides yet YH and waikato fc would struggle against most JFL sides

THE MANAGER IS ACTING LIKE  A CLOWN  .   you cant take 14 players for a final fifa game,  that is VERY AMATEUR,  he COULD still  take some players like BOXALL, MYERS, FENERIDIS,  PEVERLEY,  LOVERMORE, COOMBES, PEARCE,   etc  some had played at the JJ.OO.,   but taking only  14   is just SILLY ,,..he may play EMBLEN  as well,  the guy went crazy.   WHERE IS BLANCO?

Have to say I agree. Should have at least 18 players.

the thing is  if you play DURANTE  and FIFA  does not authorized him for any wicked rule,  NZ  may get a punishment, economically and  the may eliiminate NZ  for the play off,  and a sanction for 5 years out of competitions...It happened to Mexico in 1988,  so  NZ FOOTBALL their lawyers they got to deal with  FIFA  before DURANTE hits the field

At least  16 players should be part anyway  BROCKIE AND BERTOS they are both booked ,  that is CRAZY  ,  why not taking strikers from the U20  like fenton and boyd or lucas, lovermore?

Under 20 side is in fiji. Mexico and others played players without trying to clear with fifa or even ask/approach. We have. We'll see. Anyway yes maybe lovemore couldve replaced a bertos or brockie

I am NOT sure if you are aware but WE have ALREADY qualified so we can turn up with 5 PLAYERS and a bunch of mirrors and it will have no impact on ANYTHING of any consequence.  Also, the under 20 players are ALREADY involved in a competition, SO there IS no benefit from TAKING them from there for a GAME that means nothiNG.

FIFA have said that they think it's okay for us to play Dura, they just haven't given us official confirmation. The only punishment we could potentially get it a 3-0 loss against the Solomons in a dead rubber of a game.

By taking fewer player 'skinflint' NZ football is saving money.

if there are any injuries during training or warm up any AW fans in the crowd might be called into action, or ricki himself...

yes that is why i said it is a lacklustre amateurIsh call.  You have  to take from 16 to 18 at least, just because, you never know! , and also it is a good chance to bring youngsters in a FIFA  GAME,  you can bring some under 17  of  the best prospects from the NZFC

It is less than 2 days away. The team fly out tomorrow. It is a dead rubber. The yellow card situation to our most important players is avoided,  a professional call actually

If we need to finish the game with 8 players on the field because some of the others have got tired, then so be it.

Bit disappointed to be honest that we haven't taken advantage of the situation more and selected some more fringe players from the start. Ricki must have been confident that we'd beat New Caledonia in the first game and was already aware of the precarious yellow card problem, and could have prepared for this situation last week.

Perfect opportunity to have called up Craig Henderson, Chris James and James Musa from Europe to train with the team, sit on the bench for the first game and start the second. Other option why not call up more NZ or Oz based players like McGeorge, Feneridis, Lovemore, Boxall etc... We don't get many friendlies these days to try out new or inexperienced players so a wasted opportunity imo

English based All Whites fan! Would love to watch an All White game one day.
