Not worth the risk IMO. Get him 100% sorted for the warm-up friendlies and then the big show in November.

Just don't want to risk a potential disaster in a match where nothing can be gained. Imagine losing points in a dead rubber!

Are we certain that if Dura takes the field tomorrow and FIFA later find that he wasn't eligible we will ONLY lose the points from the game vs the Solomons? There is no risk this will somehow invalidate our campaign and we won't be allowed to play in the play-off game?

This is exactly what I've been thinking. What a cockup that would be.

Wrong. When other teams have been found guilty of fielding ineligible players during this qualifying campaign, they have just been awarded a 3-0 loss in the specific match that the player was fielded in.

Yeah, you'll have to suffer through watching a memorable test series win over England.

The pity of it all!

Three for me, and two for them.

You are such a dick JV. How you are continually allowed to slag players on this website is a joke. Makes a mockery of the rules and regulations! How many pros has NZ got? Not hundreds! Kris Bright has obviously taking offence to your comments. He's a pro, yes. Prob earns alot of money, has played in greek super league and english div 2. Wouldn't say that's easy. Stop slagging players like bright and fallon and be positive for a change. Oh and you slagged Rory Turner as well didn't you and hes just got us a chance of making the U20 WC. Get a life pal!

JV backs up his opinion with explanations, so he isn't breaking the rules. Your post is actually borderline on breaking rule 5, namely "Do not try to bully someone into submission ... simply because their views may differ from your own.".

Backs up his opinion with explanations....... so Rory Fallons done nothing for nz football and when TV commented its a shame that Kris B is too far away, he says basically YOU ARE HAVING A LAUGH!

Feel free everyone to slag players on this site. Im sure you all have played at a high level and got your coaching badges lot!

Nah, OFCTV aren't sending their crew to any of the games in the islands due to a lack of money unfortunately. There will only be text updates at oceaniafootball.com

Durante will play in Tuesday's match against the Solomon Islands in Honiara. (NZ Herald)

NZF hope his eligibility will be challenged by the Solomons (at the request of both NZF and Oceania) so Fifa have to investigate and make a ruling because they don't want it to remain a cloudy issue come November - any successful challenge after a match he played in would see the result go against the All Whites 3-0.

New Zealand side to play the Solomon Islands in Honiara, Solomon Islands, on Tuesday (5pm NZT): (Likely - 4-4-2): Spoonley; Scott, Sigmund, Durante, Hogg; Lindsay, Keat, Clapham, Rowe; Payne, Barbarouses. Subs: Paston, Bertos, Brockie.

How many get their first cap ??

I could do the research but I can't really be faffed.

How does that compare, experience wise, to the team that played the dead rubber v Fiji last time?

I can't believe this is the best way to get something sorted between NZF and FIFA. What a disgrace.

How do they decide on a 3 nil loss.   Shouldn't it just be a 3 point deduction and whatever goals we score not to count?

What happens if we lose 3-0?A fine?

Thanks Patrick for your link earlier - it's comforting to hear we will only lose any points we may gain from playing the Solomons and the campaign is safe!

I am very unhappy about the lack of tv coverage - although I understand that an Oceania dead-rubber may not be everyone's priority - but I looked forward to watching Durante's debut live and having a look at a "new" team...

Also, when will Rowe get a professional gig? It looks like he is highly rated in NZ (back up for the Nix, now an AW call-up) - I think we need more full backs playing professionally, and I'd like him to be doing that!

You cant call them a trainwreck, they would have missed the train in the first place.
