I can't find a single nz media acknowledgment of the win yet. No mention anywhere except an AAP story in on the Sydney morning herald website. Not even a one liner on stuff or nz herald yet that I can see or find via google search. I know it's a dead rubber, but that is pathetic.

Typical. I'm not surprised.

If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid

Hi all,

You'll find a round review of Matchday Six action, including a NZ match wrap-up, among the list of links on this page:
http://www.ultimatenzsoccer.com/Scoreboard/

BTW, the All Whites' next "A" international will be their 350th.

Cheers,

JR

Fantastic result ( which will hopefully stand).

A good confidence boost, and helps with a bit of depth in the squad. . .  As well as some more ranking points.

Good job!

Hogg is out for the first playoff game after getting one today.

What's sight without sound? Love without peace? Copulation without conception?

2-0 away and so it should be. That Solomon Island team is full of guys that don't even play ASB Premiership anymore (some running around in local first divisions)

Good match report here:

http://www.ultimatenzsoccer.com/Scoreboard/ofc_world_cup_qualifying_rev.htm

and here:

Apparently AW's are next playing away to Jordan in Aman on June 4 (a week before Jordan play Australia in a World Cup qualifier) - good to see the friendly preparations already under way...

Meanwhile, Tahiti are drawn to play Spain, Uruguay and Nigeria two weeks later in the Confeds Cup - good luck to them with that!!! - could be double figures scored in at least one of those matches!!!

Who was captain?

Ben Sigmund.

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

It only just occurred to me - but couldn't Ricky have called up Daniel for this game? it would have given us an extra player on the bench and it would have been a nice thing for him..

Dead rubber specialist. Like a dead ball specialist, but more rubbery.

I think most of the problems were flight related.  To get to the Solomons by Tuesday afternoon from a Sunday call up the flight options are limited and would involve getting to here or Aus for one of the limited flights per week (not per day).

FIFA says Jordan is our home game so probably not in Jordan and as the Aus game is in Aus I reckon it will be here or even (god forbid) in Aus.

Yeah fair enough - just thought to myself..what ever happened to Daniel in an AW shirt?
Oh well - maybe we'll see him in Rio next year :D

I dont think we'll be seeing him in an AWs shirt ever, wouldve happened by now otherwise. I reckon theres been something going on between Daniel and Ricki personally thats stopped it from happening. They were both keen, and now it doesnt get a mention. And with all that talk Daniel was saying about players wanting to leave the Nix... sounds like someones been rustling some jimmies !
