Oh dear... Jarrod Smith misses an open goal header after keeper flukes a deflection from an Oughton shot.

It sounds like we are attacking a huge amount, but just can't finish. The commentators start talking about players from the 80's then interupt to let you know that a minute or so ago we glanced the post with a header... Where's the detail about what is actually going on in general play!

Smeltz header from a short corner from Elliott to Chris James on the edge of the area.

Was that James with the assist? Sounds like Boyens about to come on, adds height.

Has he broken that record for most consecutive games scoring a goal in yet? Good to hear though, hopefully the flood-gates will open now.

great to get the goal, take the pressure off. Smeltz is a legend. ever since the wales game, he has found his form.

do you think it would be worth subbing Jarrod Smith off for either Brockie or Pearce in the next 10 mins?

If we build it, they will come...

I'd say bring Brockie on. Brown gets the yellow card as predicted, at least it wasn't for dissent though

Yes.

Played 14 games.

Since the goal, James has had a shot over the top and Elliott just got clobbered outside the area.  Mully's free kick up and over, keeper just geets to it.

now the commentators are saying the phoenix should take a chance and sign Chris James up...are these guys just winding us up?

while their at it, the phoenix should sign up Ngata as well, he is unattached. or had he retired? lol

RS: 'Do you think the Phoenix wouold be interested in picking up Chris James?'

The whole Tampere Utd situation really has passed them by

Permalink Permalink

Then the commentator asks if the Phoenix would be interested in Chris James- surely James would not be interested at the mo' in the 'Nix? He would be looking to stay at a club playing in European club comps?

Next minute Elliott shoots right at the keeper after a great cut back from Smith.  Good Save.

elliot should have made it 2 after a great ball from James (on his way to man of the match) played smith in to cross from the right hand side

Nelson offside... that can't have happened too often in his career?

To be completely fair... for a playoff that could send us to the world cup I'd go anywhere in NZ. But it would be nice if it was in Welly.

What does Elliott have to do to score?? In position and no matter what he tries, it goes everywhere but in> I feel sorry for the guy, he's had a couple of good games and a real engine room worker despite his age.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

Fair enough. He gets injured playing against New Caledonia for us, Blackburn may well think twice before releasing him in future
