Noah hickey just on with t***er says game has to come to Wellington, but back to the game. I was very impressed with Chris James, have never seen him play before (why wasn't he at the olympics?). Great with the ball at his feet and seemed to have options with the ball. Hickey also talking up the combo of Smeltz and Killen. looking forward to seeing that combo work. For me if we go well next year i wouldn't expect to see Smeltzy in a Nix shirt for to much longer.
Good performance though definitely needs more time together and look forward to more performances from the boys
One last thing, i really like that Black shirt they have been playing in. t***er and Hickey both saying they would like to see us in Black every week. Have to say i agree with them

Best moment of the night was someone in the crowd screaming out (very loudly) "Mulligan I love you", the disconcerting thing was that it was shouted by a guy.

Who is this person who has the hots for Mulligan, I sense a Womans Day cover story in the making......"How I found love at the football by x.x."

You know my views on NH stadium, HN. It's a dog.
The best crowds the Kingz ever got were at Mt Smart. Come to think about, the best crowds New Zealand ever got were at Mt Smart. And didn't we go from there to the World Cup.
History in the making, needs to be at a place with history, methinks.

No Pubs, No Mt. Smart (Incidentally - the Kingz best crowds were at Westpac here).

When is Eden Park finished ?  Why not go the whole hog ?

Yeah, I knew as soon as I posted that you'd be back with that one.
If NH is a dog, Eden Park is a giant poodle.
Nope, not only would we not fill it, but it would just not be right going to that shrine to Kiwi  sporting hubris.
Mt Smart, in front of the corporate boxes, like the best times.
Bring it on.

My trouble with Mt. Smart is that depressing turnout for the Oceania Nations Cup win in 2002.  Great day in the North stand but the crowd was rubbish in size. Hard News2008-09-11 12:11:19

I prefer to remember those games against Saudi Arabia et al. They were the real thing, with the World Cup spots on the line - not just the Conflabulation Cup.
The same would happen again with the World Cup a mere 180minutes or 90 away.
You know what Aucklanders are like. It would be the hottest ticket in town, and they'll be turning them away.

1980/1981 Auckland was a VERY different beast to 2008/2009 Auckland though.

I know what Aucklanders are like, and apart from the 10000 dedicated most of them will whine about traffic, the weather or something else.

Whining and dining, Aucklanders favourite pastimes.

Mt Smart over NH any day. Satnding in front of those corporate boxes, way more atmosphere than the concrete of HN Stadium. And the Kingz beating Chelsea there, what a game to remember.
