The article was written on the 27th of January and they are only letting people know about it now??? Also do they check their articles before they post?
Were dipping out toes into the water and long term its another way for us to make home games financially viable. But at $8 we think therell be a fair amount of expat Kiwis and Jamaicans logging in, and even interest from other CONCACAF nations.
edit: realised they typo'd the date, probably meant to say 27th February 2012

from above article.
"And Smeltz said it was a good thing that the All Whites, on the back of their 2010 World Cup heroics, had now set the bar so high in terms of expected performance levels.
"I think we have to do that. It doesn't matter who we play, especially coming here. We just want to put in a good performance and get the right result, which we've been doing. We want to keep that going now."
Has he forgotten the loss to Paraguay (at home), the thumpings at the hands of Mexico and Australia?
We get there in the end...

Would love to watch another game against Mexico tbh. They play some good football, gold cup was a good watch last year.

Had a look at their squad and to be honest have never heard of any of them. Just interested to know what quality they have?
On home turf, I reckon we should win well.
If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid
Only one name I recognise in their squad, Omar Cummings, even then I don't remember how he played when I saw him (if I did), I think he scored against the Timbers, meh?

The issue with Jamaica is that there is quite a few quality players who are eligible to play for them (something like 20 in the Premiership and top Championship clubs), but who, for one reason or another, haven't yet played for them. The only two Premiership players who have played for them in the past few years are Ricardo Fuller and Ricardo Gardner, but even they haven't played for a while.
But you get the feeling that if Jamaica is close to making the World Cup that a lot of these players would get a sudden interest in playing for them (kind of what happened with us in 2010). With this in mind, they could prove to be quite a tricky opponent if they're the team to make the inter-continental playoff in 2013.

"...Arriving in New Zealand on Monday, the Reggae Boyz squad will be headlined by all time top scorer Luton Shelton, who plays for Turkish club Karabkspor, and has scored his 31 international goals from 60 matches.
Goalkeeper Dwayne Miller flies in from Sweden while Keammar Daley, Claude Davis and Damian Stewart arrive from English clubs.
Major League Soccer supplies three players Houston Dynamo pair Jermaine Taylor and JeVaughan Watson along with Omar Cummings from the Colorado Rapids.
After Jorginho James scored on debut in Thursdays 1-0 win and earned himself a ticket to Auckland, Jamaica stepped up a gear with a comprehensive 3-0 win on Saturday.
Watson joined the squad in time for Saturdays match and led the rout with his first international goal, while there was no room in the travelling squad for Mitchly Waul or Toronto FCs Ryan Johnson despite their goals against Cuba.
Marvin Elliott, a team mate of All Whites striker Chris Wood at Bristol City, was ruled out with injury last week.
The steam is coached by Theodore Whitmore, a member of Jamaicas 1998 FIFA World Cup squad."

I would like to see
Paston
Reid Nelsen Smith
Bertos McGlinchey Keat/Brown Lochhead
Kosta Killen/Wood Rojas
Would like to see what Keat offers, we know what Tim offers. Brockie could come in for one of the WBs or attackers but like the pace and mobility that Kosta and Rojas offer, thought Kosta has played well for the AWs in recent games, even in deeper positions. Wood is young and would be good to see how his game is progressing but do like Killen and thinks he offers a better all round game than Wood.
