Clearly one eye on Olympic qualifiers here and a chance to indoctrinate the boy with the AW ethos (I'm presuming there is one).
Supporter world's best and worst football teams: Waikato/WaiBop, Kingz, Knights, Phoenix, The Argyle, The Whites & the All Whites

I don't get the pseudo-angst at not calling up Marinovich - surely its just a matter of logistics. Paston will play the full 90 barring injury or sending off so you just need someone to cover for a worst-case scenario and Basalaj is good enough for that, and already in this part of the world. No last minute flights from Germany to sit on a bench for an hour an a half required.

Shame about Gleeson though, was hoping he'd get some game time

Grant McKavanagh on radio sport now and is answering questions.  Call up 0800 82 55 77.  They are giving away a double pass to the game.

And dont miss your chance to meet the All Whites! Get along to Sylvia Park on Monday 27 February for a signing session with the players between 3.30pm-4.30pm! The signing session will take place in The Cone by the entrance to Hoyts Cinemas.

I read on his twitter he had some sort of blood injection in the ankle, should be all goods for All Whites he reckons.

According to NZ Herald, around 9000 tickets have been sold. Not enough New Zealand.
Hope there are plenty of late buyers like myself.

9000 is actually decent for presales on a Wednesday night in Auckland.

At this rate there should be 14,000 - 15,000

Hope so - that would be decent

If they sell 5-6k more tickets and then 5k turn up on the night then it will be a good crowd. Entirely possible.

It would be good if they got a full house.  Especially the amount of travel some of the players are doing to get to this game.  Surely people can travel 10 or so kilometres to see our national team?

My old school?  Bollocks to that - I think the 19 years of school fees paid was enough to them.

Tempted to buy some tickets and donate them the Mermaids.

Bring it on! I'm pumped for this, great to have all the World Cup legends returning home once again, a real coup getting Nelsen back. Tottenham's finest

Botafogo - Rio de Janeiro and Wellington Phoenix, my two teams til death do us part.

Plenty of other Kiwis and Jamaicans will make the flight. He should just suck it for once and think of the importance of the match in the scheme of the game and the side.

You eating your words now? Pathetic comments. Truly.

Would have loved to see him in the starting XI, and taking the set pieces ahead of Bertos. Hopefully he gets at least 30 mins
