def expected to lose, but its actually been quite a tame game. if wed got a bit lucky, the scoreline might not have blown out at all. not like spoonley's been called to make thousands of saves.

I think you guys are being pretty harsh on Spoonley. He positioned himself for the deflection but it didnt come. If instead he stood where the ball was going, and then it got deflectied, you guys would be saying he got beaten on his near post. The problem was that it was a good freekick, and no defender got even close to it. It ends up being 4 brazians vs 1 defender.

definitely felt for Spoons, he got so close to Ronaldinho's pen, what an awesome moment that would have been had he saved it. Brockie has had a few moments tonight I reakon, nutmegged the odd defender but the second yellow was a little silly. Still, I'd love to see him (or Hendo who has also impressed me) get a goal.

as for spoonley - he is doing alright for a keeper whose defense is not inspiring any confidence in this match...hardly surprising considering the attacking talent brazil is feilding...
As for the free kick he got done not making up his mind - but where was the defense?
