I have decided that Killen actually looks like he wants to be doing more, particularly when the opposition defence has the ball. He's possibly been told to conserve his energy rather than run between four blokes passing the ball about.

I tossed up that idea aswell but id like to see one of their defenders screw up and cough the ball up right infront of goal for us

You've said this before, what are you basing this on?  Have you watched Team Wellington or Western Suburbs?

Is it maybe that in this tournament we've already decided we are too poor to play actual football against these guys so we just boot it upfield?

Frankly, we need two up front.

He's what, 20/21? He's made a lot of good saves and a few mistakes that ANY young keeper will make. FFS he wont reach his peak for another 10 years.

Sometimes you can only play as well as you are allowed to play, we're not as comfortbale on the ball as other teams, we don't have the skill or the penetration to play that style of games without making mistakes, and at this level mistakes will be punished.  Again, I refer you guys to the under 17s

We are not Arsenal, we are Stoke.  And don't tell me Stoke will go out and try and pass Arsenal off the Park

I don't think hes a bad keeper, I am a fan of his, however I still think he needs a little more height.

We seem to have no tactical plan when on defence, ,markers  are letting players run through and the defenders aren't picking them up just ball watching

As soon as we get the ball we boot it away again.... WHY???

I reffer you to JD's above post. The big problem is that we boot straight to Belgian players, hence the need for more players up front.

James Dean, couldnt agree with you more, stu jacobs = job for the boys!!! he coached me once he;s crap and not pro active enough, lets face it we sucks, boxell is it, what a waste of space, he might aswell play rugby!! What is it with nz centre backs all having to be large ogars with no skill?

I base my opinion on what i have seen him do with age group sides. Colin Tua with the under 17's did get beaten but atleast they looked to play.

When has a national team of footballers ever looked to play under his watch. The all whites use to be the same and then Ricki came, all of a sudden we tried to actually play football and guess what we did ok.

Jacobs has no faith in our players, if he did he would as them to try passing it to each other other tha hoofing it forward.

True, should play 11 up front and increase the odds of it being booted to one of us

You must have been watching a different u17s than I did then because the team I watched got embarassed 7-0, 5-0 and 1-0.

maybe the goal will help to settle our nerves a bit.

we have nothing to lose now.

but if we are just going to sit back and keep on absorbing the pressure. we may as well all go home

If we build it, they will come...

Would you rather get results, like we did against China, or concede 12 goals in a tournament?

So you are basing your opinion on 6 games that you have watched him on TV, against far better opposition, you have no credibility if that is all you have based it on.

He may be a little off, but i prefer the way he tries to play, and that is attacking, keep ball possession.

That is the type of coaching we need if we are ever to lift our quality and performances up on the world stage.

How is playing Stu Jacobs long ball sh*t going to do that?

To be fair, I think we passed it around more against China.
