I'm not comparing him to others.

If you are referring to Jessie Edge, I completely agree that Turner is better than him. Jessie needs someone to tell him how to play football cause Declan has never let him do it on on his own this far. Also prone to giving away dumb fouls and possession. That selection was very left field

Jordan Vale has potential. Very raw. Can be a bit loose with possession but there enough there to suggest moving a head with him.

Striker in for a defender? Hmmm.. thought we'd need more midfielders if anything.

Whoa what an eye opener that game was today. Report from game vs U17s said Biss and Gulley were awful. Well Gulley didn't play today and Biss was poor. He just plays back and square. Hamish Watson is not a great footballer, just a tank but he lost the ball heaps and can't play under pressure.Good in the air though.  Luke Adams cost them a goal. He was a disappointment..... Good in the air but defensivelly poor. Expected more of Cam Howieson. He played simple and worked hard but was not strong and didn't defend well. Ryan Thomas was good along with Simon Arms but Milly has it all wrong, Tyler Boyd and Fenton should be wide, Rory Turner in the hole with Thomas up front. That would be exciting. Thomas scored. Joel Stevens, Dale Higham, Liam Higgins, Tom Biss , Van Elia and Kade S shouldn't be anywhere near the squad. Jordan Vale and Ken Yahomoto would be miles better than those 6. Jesse Edge was ok, not great, played in defence last third. Bill T was so casual! Fenton did well but should be wide and Boyd who didn't play to start with looks as though he's Billy bigtime. Did ok but tried to do too much. Could have passed alot more to create chances. Turner looked sharp and hit the crossbar but only played the last third.

Hawk, if you are a super coach who would you pick? Your obvisously from Auckland with little knowledge of football.. Its easy to write everyone was shit..

Can you please let me know who u think is a good player? Guessing they will all be Auckland players..

Were you there? I think most of them are good players. I would have Jordan Vale in the team. Bazely was heard to say the same.  Talking about the playing eleven. There is only about 3 auckland players in the squad. Didn't even think about Auk players. I was judging the game on the merit of the players that played today. There is a big difference between some of them. Not their fault and Im not slagging them. Just saying some were poor and I had expected more of the ones that had come from pro environments. Maybe expecting too much but at the end of the day I am hoping they qualify and think they will.

Hmmm...... All this insight after watching one game ! !     where the players are being given a run and combinations being tested. You must have an amazing ability to judge players just like that..... and instinctively know how they play...
Or is it sour grapes that some of your picks weren't there. I'm sure if you had several coaches choose, they would all choose a  different group of players-so lets not go out bagging the players, just because you don't see what the current coach sees..
Or is bagging players that aren't your favourites all you know

Watch it fulltime he played for NZ which automatically makes him a super coach.

The fact that milly was playing different combinations and trying players of of position in this "training" game is irrelevant.

If you read it properly. I said I was judging it on that game. I know Milly was trying combinations. Football is about opinions, thats what makes it so great,I was with my mate who used to play in the old aussie national league. He didn't think much of Arms whereas I thought he was good. I could have written alot more including ...... you could tell some of the players were not playing at 100 per cent, they looked a bit tentative Who could blame them, they have just had a team mate gone home injured. They wouldn't have wanted an injury before flying out tomorrow. Also I said but you didn't read it, I would have Jordan Vale in. Tim Payne will come in obviously if they qualify and that will make a big difference. I think on paper it's a strong team. By the way.... Neil Sykes was the best passer on the pitch ....... In my opinion. (thought that was what forums were about).

Thanks for the report Hawk. At least you gave one. Didn't see anything written from anyone else on that match. Not sure why you hit a nerve with that lot.
Comments going on about you being a  "super coach" and claiming to be past all white - strange lot.
Besides you said you played for NZ, which i took more likely as an age level representative. Either way is still an achievement in my book.

If we build it, they will come...
