JV, sometimes you are worth reading other times you can disappoint, do you mind if I ask to what level you played/coached/managed? I struggle to understand some of the negativity you show to current players. For some reason this may make sense to your comments.

TripVincent thinks Rory is a footballer worth raving about. I don't and I have stated my reasons why. We simply agree to disagree and I have no real issue with that on this front.

If you are going to call me out with 'he scored a goal' then expect a response.... Scoring a goal does not automatically justify his talent or any previous argument (and you can insert Rory Fallon into this as well.... say Rory and Rory. I wonder....) It just means he scored a goal and did his job as a striker. Start putting in a few MOM performances and then I'll change my mind as to whether or not he is worth raving about. What I have seen, nope - hence my response.

I'll add to this as well and it falls in from another thread. Kris Bright gets on Twitter and has a basically a whinge about players picked for the AWs. I find it a little bit rich he is laying it on when his indicators of how good he is, is that he can't stay in any one place
(31 countries he said?). Is that an indicator of lack of on field talent, or perhaps off field issues (speculation) Either way, considering his history, he is not really in a place to be taking shots at other considering if they were not there, he would benefit. I call that sour grapes. If he got on with it, found a team and stuck there and put some goals away, then come talking yourself up. A great example is Greg Draper. Landed in Wales, 2 good seasons scoring consistently. Is he AW material? I have no idea, and I have no idea the standard of the league he plays in either to be honest but he has stuck, scoring at a high ratio and isn't on Twitter whinging about the chances he is not getting with the national team.

Personally i admire bright for sticking it out in europe rather than coming back home. If he was a RB or a DM we'd be (you to JV) calling for Ricki to select him. His prob as ive said is the amount of attacking/striking options in the side at present.

First pen was clumsy defending from arms. Adams shocking marking in 2nd. Tiredness? Shouldve taken another CB IMO. Nobody to replace solomons though

Did I read that he had a trial at CCM. If that's correct, how did that work out for him? Tough because he would be an import but again if he was good enough....

I agree that perhaps if he played in a different position but then that changes the entire argument and anything said previously would not count because completely different positions. His career may have gone differently as well.

According to the team list they do have another CB - Schrijvers. He played in the Vanuatu game and from what you can tell in the video footage did OK.

Apparently 3 clear cut penalties we were denied (Louis the first on in the highlights)

Boys said Arms got all the ball in the tackle and the ref just gave the peno.

No excuses for the NCL second goal.

I know Kade is there I just thought have another (4 in total) might help. It's a lot of work for Adams to get through

1st pen NC Keeper not given but clearly was.

2nd pen NZ defender. Did they stand on the ball?

2nd NC goal. Offside. Suggest the rules be read before debating

3rd pen NC Keeper obviously given

Just from looking at those highlights I would say Van Elia looks pretty decent. Anyone know how old he is?

Also from the player movement around the field Chris Milicich looks less crap as a coach than I remember. Hard to tell without seeing full coverage though.

They look a lot more mobile. I did recall Milicich saying in a presser that they would be playing a more retention short passing game because this squad was suited better for that than the last squad (where he played 90mins of welly it)

Bill Tuiloma is 18 tomorrow. Wonder if LA Galaxy offer is still on the table or he'll be back to Europe after this?

Where'd you hear FC Basel?

If true then I guess it'll mean playing in their Under 19/21 side for at least a year, two years (under 21s)

I would think that if I was the LA Galaxy and I heard about a player shopping around for another gig after I'd signed him, I'd be a bit annoyed and pull the deal.

Certainly wouldn't want to go and play in the MLS with foreign player restrictions

On paper the Salary Cap in the MLS is very low, not sure if players also receive extra assistance outside of the decleared salaries.

Playing in Europe may mean open opportunites because of the lack of a foreign restrictions and also the player payments may be higher.

Ok, excepting your points above, then why sign with the Galaxy?

Assuming we win this, will be playing Uruguay, Uzbekistan and Croatia in the finals in Turkey, June, after the draw this morning:

chance against Uzbeks I guess...

There are tougher groups such as Gp A with Spain, France, USA

Aussies have hosts Turkey, Colombia and El Salvador

he's hardly said its rigged. someone was always going to get that bye before the last round. I'm sure milicich could've got the mix a lot better in the squad to cope. suck it up! early goal, 10 man D boom

Yeah but Fiji getting the bye before they play New Zealand is fortunate.. then having PNG to batter if it comes down to goal difference on the last day

10man park the bus lol

If we draw are we pretty much fucked?

Basically what are the chances of Fiji sticking 5 past PNG?

Three for me, and two for them.
