The incident Danny Vukovic (obscured) is yellow-carded for dissent at yesterday's match and warned he risks being ordered from the sidelines if he re-offends.

The Mariners grabbed a goal back 15 minutes from fulltime, breaking down the left hand flank through former Wellington Phoenix winger Ahmed El**ch who pulled the ball back across goal for Australian international striker Sasho Petrovski to finish from close range.
Bloody hell, he managed a run down the wing and a cross that lead to a goal??? I'll bet that's his only one all season.

Queenslander 3x a year.

He did it last game for them too, the prof.

Ahmad, while I didn't like him or the way he played, will not play as badly as he did for us. No way.

interesting that he broke down the left flank not the right. Maybe he just realized he's left footed.

Nah. Pie cart was on that side of the pitch .

What's sight without sound? Love without peace? Copulation without conception?

Does anybody have a "text buddy" in Jakarta? Keen to hear news about the Oly-Whites vs PSMS Medan match. Starts at 8.30pm NZ time! Local weather forecast said it's 32 degrees over there!!!!

Or does anyone know of a website doing online updates of the game?? (Wishful thinking??!)

Spoonley has promised us a wrap of the game against Pepsicola Poontangerang when he gets to a country with english keyboards...

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Have checked the Radio Sport website, and there's no mention of the game against Indonesia tomorrow, or the Phoenix v Roar game this weekend. Any idea where I can tune in?

Indonesia v New Zealand 2-1
From the chilly antipodean winter New Zealand's young Olympic squad find themselves taking on a near full strength Indonesia is sweltering conditions at an empty Bung Karno Stadium.

A 3.30 kick off may give the Indonesians an advantage on the pitch as their players are used to the heat but it deters fans from going to the game. I mean, FA, some of us have day jobs you know?

Indonesia took the lead on 12 minutes when a free kick driven in from the right was drilled home by midfield dynamo Firman Utina.

Elie Aiboy looked threatening down the right in flashes but his end product was often poor while on the left Budi Sudarsono drove forward with relish.

It was his run that beat the offside that set up Indonesia's second goal just on the half hour. Budi got to the half way line and pulled the ball back leaving Bambang Pamungkas to smash the ball high into the net.

It was that rarities in Indonesian football, a goal from open play but Bambang's finishing emphasised there ain't a lot wrong up top. It's just the service that is lacking at times.

Come the tackles and come the stretchers as the Indonesians delighted in being carried off for slight knocks. Really, this is pathetic but as one commentator told me they do the same in Italy and other Latin countries. Maybe, but is that an excuse?

Right at the death Brockie caught Markus Horison in the Indonesian goal, and the camera crew, off guard and got a goal back and seconds later he again threatened but this time Markus pushed the ball over the bar.

Half time Indonesia v New Zealand 2-1

Much of the second half drifted along but in the last 10 minutes the game opened up as New Zealand pushed for an equaliser. Horison saving spectularly from close range, and Indonesia, spearheaded by Widowo, probed the gaps.

With the last action of the game Budi Sudarsono went on another surging run only for his shot to pass harmlessly across the goal.

A poor result, reading Stu's comments you'd think it was a good one.

Indonesia are ranked in the 130's. They are a poor quality team with no name players. We have to do better if we are going to be competative.

Good to see Brockie get another, hopefully he carries his form onand picks up a contract somewhere.

Oh yeah, and aside from Elliott starting and Nelsen when he arrives arguebly that was our strongest line up.

Well it would have been nice to win. Sounds like we had a few chances but were unlucky.

Remember the heat would be a big factor. Our players are tired and a climatising, lets just hope they peak in August after this last club game and then some rest mixed in with training leading up to the olympics. We also just lost 2-0 to one of their clubs sides, so this is an improvement on that. Indonesia have played 3 internationals in the last few months with good results.

Even the All whites struggle against the likes of Malaysia when we play them. In fact the All Whites also lost 5-0 to Indonesia back in 1997.

We know we're good enough, it's just about getting ready for game 1 v China.  These games are very hard to put into context when you have no idea about the conditions, the ground, the opposition or exacty how we are treating the match.

Normo's coming home
