I tell you he's a right back

He should not get a start. I cannot remember the last time he played well.

Against Perth 13 months ago.
Against Brazil in 2006. He was brilliant in that game.

these games are rewarding the players and fans that got the AW's to the world cup, I doubt we'll see mulligan and co in the squad the next qualifying games, especially given muly hasn't got a team to play for - he hasn't actually payed a game for Auckland fC yet has he?

I think it's better to start calling players who could be very important for the future.
We don't play regularly against others teams like Paraguay(like european national teams does),if we have the chance to test some players,we should do it.

I have mixed feelings on this. While its important to prepare new/younger players for the future, we still want to be able to do well against countries like Paraguay. If we're losing too many of these games because we're fielding inexperienced squads then we're going to be in trouble.

Play our best team in both of these matches. It is not the training field, it is our national team plying at home, and we want the best result.

Here Here

Also, getting results out of these games keeps us in the top 50 which the young guys need to play in Europe if they don't hold ancestral rights.

I reckon Ivan might retire again after these games but I think Si might play another 12 months or so in White yet and lets be honest, WE NEED HIM!!!

No place for sentiment, best squad and best team. That means no Mulligan and there has to be a spot for Costa.

don't like the 3-4-3 it always ends up  being a 5-2-2-1 maybe that's why we had the fewest shots at goal at the world cup...

We also drew with Italy at the World Cup

yep, lets just ignore the fact that we were under the pump for 85 mins then shall we ?

You seem to be ignoring the fact they were defending world champions.

Oh joy. We get to see the elbow-show again then. I'd rather see Wood, Smeltz and Killen as the front three. Killen playing the deeper role, the other 2 working off him. As for the midfield, I guess Brown and Elliottt are the right men for the job. Maybe hand Clapham a 20min spell as Elliottt tires.

Bit off topic but I was discussing Tommy Smith on the All Whites page on Facebook. And then next thing I know I have a Message from him calling me a prick. I thought this was a bit non professional

Too bad you won't be able to sort it out behind the bikesheds, now he's not coming home.

Speaking of which, Roy Keane seems to have learnt a trick or two from his old gaffer at Man U. Smith plays 90 minutes & scores a winning goal for Ipswich, then plays 18 minutes at Selhurst and sets up a winning goal the same day, and Roy wants us to believe he's not fit?

Don't worry Roy, like you, we'll rest him midweek, and he'll be right as rain by Saturday

Was just saying how I didn't think he really was injured.

If you tell me how I put that in here then sure.

You should have a 'print screen' button on you keyboard.  Press it.  Then open paint and press ctrl V.  Should paste what was on your screen at the time you printed screen.  Crop the appropriate area.

Make sure the size of the file is less than 35kb.  Then click 'insert image' on the reply to post page.

I was thinking about that.

But I did sort of know him when he was in New Zealand and I knew a lot of his friends.
And they are Mutual friends of his. So if wasn't him I don't think he would have the same mutual friends

did you reply back?

It sounds all a bit dubious him being injured. I would have thought him of all those guys over in Europe, he would be one to put his hand up to come back and prove those doubters he wanted to play for NZ not because we qualified for the WC and saw his chance.

"Tony Smith" left a comment on that same link saying "who pays his wages, isn't it just a friendly." So I clicked on his page, turns out his sibling on facebook is that same Tommy Smith that wrote to you. What kind of professional athlete as a profile pic of them off a website called sporting heroes. Plus that is not his dad. I think you were punked.Luis Garcia2010-10-05 23:42:00
