How good was the Bahrain game? Is that a rhetorical question?  Great news and  this will motivate me to get off my backside and renew my phoenix club membership and  my season pass.

What if tickets go on sale before we get our season tickets? How do we get priority sales?

Permalink Permalink

I'm confused as to why phoenix ticket holders would get any special priority to a world cup qualifier for the all whites. The rest of us are getting penalised enough having to get time off work and pay for travel + accommodation + food for the games.

Typical. Perhaps while we are handing our pre-sale tickets to phoenix season ticket holders, we can rename the New Zealand All Whites the Wellington All Whites? F%$k everybody else.

Wellington Rugby season ticket holders get the option to purchase their seats for any All Blacks tests in Wellington. I'm sure other cities offer the same thing to their season pass holders.

For some reason I don't think it will be like the Sevens, selling out in minutes. There will be plenty of tickets for you to buy after Phoenix fans reserve their normal seats.

I did consider that before I posted. The All whites play off game is a little bit different then a test match in rugby that is regularly held in a whole host of cities and the possibility of 15,000 people travelling to the game is a little bit more unlikely. I'd be happy enough to get an all whites game somewhere even remotely close to where I live, I certainly wouldn't be clamouring for somesort of reserved seating.

There will still be over 30,000 tickets even after the Nix season pass holders get theirs. You'll get some. My balls my word.

I think in the future they should have a system, like a rewards setup, where people who have attended all whites games in the past couple of years get the first chance for pre-sale tickets. May encourage people to go to games outside of the world cup play off as well.

If its any consolation it is bound to like normal pre-purchase ticketing with Ticketek, a password that will soon leak all over the place.

Na.  I'm going to make sure that I buy my maximum 24 ticket allocation and I urge all the other 1426 season holders to do the same.

I know what you're getting at nommag but this won't sell out first week. I still think the marketing campaign is gonna have to be epic for a sell out before the away leg. That would've been the case in Aucks or Wellys. Everyone remembers how amazing it was 14/11/09 but sales were below 10000 before the first leg from memory.

I bought my ticket so early it still said NZ vs Bahrain/Saudi arabia on it. It's just the principle of the thing, I like the phoenix as much as the next person and am disappointed I can't attend their games each week, I just think everyone should be on even footing when it comes to the all whites world cup play off game.

And so they are:

"From today fans can sign up to a waiting list at www.ticketek.co.nz giving them the opportunity to purchase tickets before they go on sale to the general public. Ticket prices will be announced shortly."

I wouldn't be so sure, this is kiwi sports fans your talking about.  The novelty factor of '09 is not there, plus as others pointed out sales did not kick off until we achieved the draw in Bahrain.   I would not be surprised at all if there is a poor crowd in attendance if we don't win Central America which is highly likely.

Playing the games now would be better for us as Weli will be warmish in November unlike right now.

Also ticket sales should be open to all-comers unless something like an AW equivalent of the England Fan Club that you have to be a part of to get an England ticket.

I thought the point of the nix pre-sale was to get a Bay full of Yellow Fever/White Noise supporters, you know..so there can actually be a decent home end support...like last time.
Rather than have those of us that will make some noise spread out & diluted (like the socceroos matches have been)
It worked brilliantly last time why the feck would you fuck with it?

This. Best to get the Phoenix hardcore into Aisle 21/22 and further round towards halfway, rather than having this area filled up with people who have never been to the Phoenix, but wanted to go in the White Noise zone because it sounded 'cool' last time.

But all of this aside, the Phoenix have negotiated a deal with NZF to give Nix members priority access. It's not like NZF have just turned around and said "Right then, lets make sure all the Phoenix members are able to attend, they are better than everyone else", which is the impression I got as to what you thought has happened Nommag from reading your posts here.

Same thing happened to me in the office, people who had never shown an interest came over and asked me question about when tickets would go on sale etc.

I went to Vic for a year so know Wellington well which is why I've made that statement.  A Weli winter is pretty rufguts and would put it right up a Caribbean/Central American team.
