FIFA will fine us for not giving Mexican fans their rightful seat allocation. We might have to win to pay the fine!

Prepare for bags full of urine, All Whites (and traveling supporters).

Though, that is usually just reserved for the United States and other CONCACAF members. Might get something different as a playoff opponent.

I said something very similar on the weekend. I think you will find the second leg not in front of a packed out Westpac. If they are take it that much up the jacksy in the away leg, those that got on for the ride will stay home and warm on a weeknight than go for a dead game. It will be the hardcore only. Trade Me will flood with face value tickets.

Its sad, but we do have to wait for 2018 now, if herbert thinks hes going to keep it close by defending in

game one, then he hasnt  a clue, we will be run off our feet, this wont be even be close, Im  guessing less

than 10K will turn up for second leg, because it will be a dead rubber.

^keep the faith man, its football anyone can win a match.

Am I the only one who thinks this is fantastic?

A World Cup qualifier against Mexico? Here in Wellington? Unbelievable.

This is what it's all about - going up against the best, not hiding on the fringes like some little bitch hoping to sneak a free trip to Brazil.

We are now part of the biggest story in world football for the next 5 weeks.

Jesus wept - some of you need to pull your head out of your arses and just enjoy the ride.

2018 we'll probably be in this same position again, when Bolivia or some shit lose last minute to Brazil and we end up playing Uruguay.

So try 2022.

Doubt Panama would have been a free trip at all.

Wishing for a slightly easier game makes us 'little bitches'? Nice one. I want us to have to the best chance possible to get through. Mexico makes the job a lot harder. Couldn't care less about the 'name' of the team we play - people will only remember the outcome and if we made it to 2014.

Exactly, so why are we splitting hairs over who we play?

It's hard to get to the World Cup. It's meant to be fucking hard.

Bring it on, I say. Buzzing, Can't wait.

Why are you talking about a free trip then?

Panama would have been preferable. Mexico will be tougher.

Mexico is under serious pressure and hasn't been coping with it up to now. Who knows maybe they will collapse and its a better option than Panama.

Yip sure. Because if you think whether or not we play Mexico or Panama or Honduras or Costa Rica has a major bearing on that either way then you are fooling yourself. We are playing the 4th placed team in CONCACAF, just the same as we have been all along. It's going to be fucking hard, it always was.

Interesting theory. Remember Ireland vs France in 2009? People said the same thing before that game, and look what happened with that handball.

But, Slovenia also beat Russia, which meant losing roughly the same amount of potential viewers as it would be with Mexico losing to us, and Russia aren't exactly squeaky clean when it comes to politics/business, I'm sure something could've been stitched up to ensure it was 'already won' ... So doesn't really mean shit.

You are welcome.  We just sent you the worst team in CONCACAF.  Don't be fooled by the resume, Mexico is ripe for the taking.  Both Panama and Mexico fold under pressure, Mexico just folds a little quicker is all.

I agree with this. If it were Panama it would've meant we are playing against a side on the rise. Instead with it being Mexico, it's a side falling spectacularly from grace. This is the worst Mexican side since 1982, where we beat them to get to the WC.

I hate to be the guy that brings this up. But the amount of corruption in South America is just rediculous. When there is BIG money involved, you can be stepping into dodgey territory. This game has a lot of money riding on it. Not just in terms of the prize money but everything else that goes with it for the country of Mexico. TV revenue, Advertisement, Shirt sales, etc etc etc. Let's just hope that it stays away from this game.
