Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

Why ?

Last AW's game in Welly got 2,500, last game in Auckland just under 10k.  NZ U-17 was also disappointing.

I don't think we have a divine right to anything.  if the Phoenix grabbed 10k every week maybe, but even the most blinkered person can see that was on the slide last season.

I'd like it here, and think we have as much right based on support as anywhere else, but what might clinch it is that it's easier for everyone in NZ to get to here being in the middle of the country.

The most importnat thing is that wherever it is EVERYONE goes.

We need to stop perpetuating the myth that the last AW game in Wellington that got 2,500 had anything at all to do with Wellingtonians support for soccer or the AW's. That match was a absolute marketing disaster by the NZFC and they were lucky to get the 2,500 that turned up.

Agree important we get a great crowd in behind the team wherever it is played.

I know that, and at the time was as vocal as anyone, but the crowd numbers still stand and if you look at them they are the facts.

thing is we need a vocal and crowd and i know that will be possible in Wellington but can Auckland get something vocal happening considering they wont have practice to get it all going

Bahrain has plenty of money from the oils and hardly any taxes, so of course it would be free . . . ?

Because of it's importance, our government should subsidies the ticket cost and make it practically free. It would work well if we perform on the away game beforehand. The World Cup finals is great advertisement for the country and promotes tourism. So hopefully our beloved Prime Minister (also Minister of Tourism) should see this as a great opportunity.

Well in that case Christchurch must surely be the best bet seeing as we got 10 000+ to a game that had virtually no advertising either.

According to Mr Glading then, we should have a decision by the end of the week.

That game against vanuatu was so tradjic. I don't know what the advertisemnt was like for all the other games around the country. But agree we were lucky to get 2,000 o that game. I think what evr council gets behind it the bst will win. Still hoping like hell for wellington.

Wasnt advertised in Auckland but still people made the trip down
you can make all the excuses you want but at the end of the day its the presence of the Phoenix that is affecting attendances at any none Phoenix games in wellington

Wellington's won the right to host the second, and deciding match of the All Whites' world cup football qualifying playoff.

The Cake Tin has beaten out bids from North Harbour Stadium and Waikato Stadium to host the second leg of the series against either Bahrain or Saudi Arabia in mid-November.

New Zealand Football CEO Michael Glading says the majority of players wanted the game in the Capital because it feels more that home.

Glading says a clear majority of the Confederations Cup football squad played club football in Wellington.

Tickets for the match are set to go on sale at the end of next month.
