Many a word spoken in jest...
any word on there being a NZ u17 type team this season?
Would be out of cycle for 17s wouldn't it? They'd be 14 or 15?
Wanderers SC Youth? ha ha
Nelson Falcons beat Ole Academy 7-3 in a preseason game today. They also played Canterbury United twice, think the first game was 2-2 but not sure of the next.

From Ole facebook page:
Big thanks to ASB youth teams Canterbury United and Nelson Falcons for inviting us down to the South island for games this past weekend. The boys were able to beat a quality side in Canterbury 2-1 and lost a tough match to Nelson 7-3. WIth the average age of the Ole squad being just 15.6 years old the future is looking bright!
Kotahitanga. We are one.
anybody know bout TW youth squad yet?

I hear TW squad was chosen after trials in early Nov, I know that they had their first session on Sunday.
whats the squad list look like?
Nelson Falcons looking very young this year. A 14 year old is the youngest member. Oddly there are four goal keepers in the squad.

Going to play a little more defensively then this season?
Not good news. http://www.stuff.co.nz/dominion-post/news/wellington/9552481/Concern-for-missing-Greytown-man

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.
I don't know a lot about waibop youth but I have seen the Cambridge school team play a few times and thought Reid Drake and Ruben Parker-Hanks were stand outs. I think Cambridge were top four at nationals
Fuck this stupid game
At risk of sounding like an old man, there are some shocking haircuts amongst this lot...
Some good players amongst there, Drake, Molony, Hilliar and Probert will all go well if they aren't involved with the seniors, Boss is a very good player, Krystman has some publicity too, and Towers is still in Year 12 but is a top notch keeper.
Think they'll be more competitive than previous incarceration, but doubt they'll be able to do too much damage against the usual Auckland powerhouses - some of the players who were going to play are either involved with the top side or injured/overseas.
I don't know if it's been officially published but I understand this is the opening round of fixtures
| 11-Jan | WaiBOP | Hawkes Bay | John Kerkof Park, Cambridge | 1400 |
| 11-Jan | Wairarapa | Wellington | Memorial Park, Masterton | 1400 |
| 12-Jan | Wanderers | Auckland City | North Harbour Stadium | 1200 |
| 12-Jan | Auckland Utd | Waitakere | Centre Park, Mangere | 1600 |
| 12-Jan | Southern | Nelson | Tahuna Park, Dunedin | 1230 |
| 12-Jan | Manawatu | Canterbury | Memorial Pk | 1400 |
N-Bomb do you not rate Parker-Hanks? He's not the tallest but very athletic and hard to beat.
Fuck this stupid game
To be honest I've never seen him play. I've only seen guys who've played at northern league club level or who play for my school, so a lad from Cambridge often goes under my radar. I'll try get out to a youth game at some stage and check it out, otherwise I'll have to wait until NRFL season.
All good I wondered why he didn't get a mention that's all.
Fuck this stupid game
Hasn't that keeper signed for Birkenhead sure I saw him play for them a few weeks ago
Yes Reuben has signed for Birkenhead as well as jarrod young and one other of the Wanderers u19 squad
Interesting, Jarrod said he was looking to find a team in Auckland after moving their to play for Waitak, Birko would be a good fit.
What position does Rueben play?
I know Jarrod is a mid fielder.
Reuben Parker - Keeper, Jarrod Young - Midfielder and Blair Bates - Striker. All lads are from Wanderers
Can you play Youth League and also for the Wanderers?
I let my guitar speak for me
